Core Work With Mayan Abdominal Massage

The ancient people have a way with treating various medical conditions that were present in the early centuries. Such treatments include the use of herbal medicines, diet programs, warm water therapy, and massage therapy.

Mayan abdominal massage therapy is one of the ancient therapeutic massages that has been used to treat many conditions including the correction and realignment of the uterus, release and improvement of blood, lymph, oxygen and energy flow within the body, release of muscle spasms, treatment of pelvic bones, addressing of intestinal problems and many more. Although this type of massage is usually done on women due to its success in the treatment of infertility, men can also benefit from the wonderful effects of the therapy.

The therapy was developed by the Mayans as their alternative medical care for treating various abdominal problems including the dreaded infertility among men and women. Dr. Rosita Arvigo was responsible for the improvement and introduction of the Mayan abdominal massage which was learned through the humble teachings of Don Elijio Panti. The passing of knowledge was done for ten years in a remote village of San Antonio in Western Belize. There she learned how to perform deep penetrating massage strokes in slow motion for better results. She also learned the importance of associating herbal plants with the massage therapy to improve its effects. Panti’s theory regarding the importance of working on the core of the body which is the uterus in women was proven by Arvigo to be correct after years of intensive studying and practicing of the massage technique.

Dr. Arvigo began teaching and offering Mayan abdominal massage services to the public and those in need of such treatment when she was confident with her skills and satisfied with the results of the therapy.

Prior to a therapy session, the massage therapist requires the patient to submit a medical history in order to avoid risks and contraindications. Such would be disadvantageous to both the client and therapist if allowed to have therapy with contraindications of conditions.

During the therapy, slow massage strokes are performed on the abdomen and back part of the patient in such deep techniques in order to penetrate through the muscle tissues of the body. The patient lies comfortably on a massage table while the massage therapist manipulates her hands throughout the affected area of the abdomen and back. Temporary pain can be experienced during the therapy due to the deep therapeutic techniques used in the massage therapy. The patient can expect gradual improvements after each session.

The therapy includes the self care method which is regarded by Dr. Arvigo herself as the cornerstone of the massage technique. The treatment’s success is also based on the application of the self care method by the patient. The method increases the success rate and speeds up the recovery process from a condition. The massage therapist teaches it to the patient during the massage therapy session as a part of the whole session. Significant results can be noticed and seen after three to four sessions of this therapy.
