Drew Estate uses the finest Nicaraguan Criollo and Dominican Piloto Cubano long-fillers, bound in a San Andreas Negro Oscuro leaf, all patiently aged. Drew Estate Chateau Real is wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper that is deliciously creamy and mild with a taste unlike anything Drew Estate has put out before. This smoke has a gleaming golden brown wrapper with a satin sheen that it a pleasure to behold. The band is a classic two-part, red and gold band. Beautifully handmade and constructed, it has all the right reasons to stay intact from first cut to last draw. The nose is earthy and light.

Upon lighting, it “smacks of spice”, with creamy caramel and coffee undertones taking center stage. The robust Brazilian binders that secure a mellow blend of long fillers contribute to its rich, yet smooth and creamy taste. The smoke is full and white. As you approach the middle of the smoke, the spice fades to a quiet peppery note, holding on to its sweetness as it gradually builds in intensity with a nutty taste and notes of leather.

This smoke is cigar smoking at its finest The draw is just right, not too loose and not too hard. The burn is consistent, but the ash is a little flaky so watch your shirt. The last half has a bit of cherry flavor that pops in and out at times. This delicate dance of cherry on top of the nutty, leather, coffee and caramel tones makes a delightful taste that lingers nicely on the palate. In fact, the flavors are exceptionally consistent for a mild smoke and are just full enough to be borderline medium from mild.

The Drew Estate Chateau Real has been compared to the Rocky Patel Vintage CT line in quality, and is a top favorite when comparing other mild smokes on the market today.
