All I had to do was to sign the pink slip the dismantler had given to me; it was a form that stated that my junk car was salvaged or totaled. You don\’t have to worry that much about the paperwork since the company\’s representative will take care of everything. Still don\’t let them get away with your car if you didn\’t sign any paper previously.

3. How can I be sure I get the best price when I junk my car?

I\’ve got a good price for my car as it still had its engine in a good state but I had mentioned it to the dismantler when he came to pick up my junk car. So my advice is to carefully evaluate your car before calling in the towing company and know what is still worthy enough to be mentioned. If the buyer can see you are aware of your junk car real value he will less likely make you a low offer.

4. If I want to junk my car and it is still drivable will I be held responsible if the junkyard decides to give it a ride after taking it from me and something happens?

No once you sign the papers the dismantler gives to you are absolved of any liability-whatever the junkyard does with the car does not concern you. You should also announce your local respective authority that you do not own the car anymore.

Also do not expect a high price on your junk car. I had only got a few hundred bucks when I did junk my car; after all it was a car that got crushed in an accident.
