The windows are an opening in a wall or any sort of barrier or divider that is intended to allow air, light and sometimes sound, to pass through whenever it is opened. In most cases, the windows are concealed by a glass or a glasslike material, which are often transparent and/or translucent. These coverings are held in place by frames. In the primitive time, the windows were just holes in a wall. The coverings used to them were animal hide, cloth or wood. Later on, shunts were invented as a mechanism for the windows to be opened and closed.
