Termites Need Some Expert Attention

With the change in the weather, many people will discover that they are being invaded by all kinds of creepy crawlies and thing which eat away at the wood. It is at this time that companies get inundated with calls for help so they will surely be advertising themselves, particularly on the internet. For those who want to look for a great company, enter ‘Northern Kentucky termite’ or ‘termite’ and see which companies are available locally.

The first thing one normally sees is some dust like powder anywhere where wood is in existence. Unfortunately, this could be that valued family heirloom or just some old door frame, but it is important to act quickly since these creatures will surely bring their friends once they find a good food source. They do this by laying down scent trails along their burrows to let their nest mates know where the food is coming from. The next thing to do, obviously, is to find a great exterminator which will come in and sort out the matter can take several forms, depending on which system is to be used. Some of them are a little disruptive but this is quite a serious problem so it has to be done no matter if the garden gets dug up or not.

The thing that the chosen company will do is dig a deep trench all around the house. This has to be done in one complete circle since the nest will be some way away and no one will know which direction they are coming from. Into this trench, a lot of chemicals will be poured to make a barrier that the creatures will not cross. Once the trench is filled in, this should last a number of years but it will have to be done again at some time in the future. There is another way to do the same kind of job too and this is usually used on things like important buildings or in town center locations where digging a trench is not really feasible. Even the White House has this system so it cannot be that bad.

This system is a series of long tubes sunk deep into the ground at intervals of a few feet apart around the entire house. This takes the place of the trench but it is a whole lot less intrusive. It is also easier for cement pavements and places of historical interest so that they are not disturbed too much.

The idea is that each tube is baited with poison food and this is what the creatures are attracted to. They eventually will take some back to the nest, after laying scent trails, and the queen will die off when she ingests the poison. The tubes are checked regularly to see if the poison is being eaten and it is these tubes which will get more attention of course. This is tracked on a computer so that the representatives for the company can keep details of the direction of the attacks. It is this side then that will get more attention.
