When Something Goes Oh So Terribly Wrong
Picture this: So you are standing there. You are looking at your above ground pool and you silently say \”Kudos!\” to yourself because you have put up this majestic pool over a year ago. Your kids scream your name and they are just pleading for you to join them in swimming. You happily nod to them as you continue to stay blissful. Everything is going well isn\’t it? What could possibly go wrong? But then it happened. Your pool water fearlessly gushed out of your entire above ground pool. The kids are screeching. They don\’t understand. The water continues to sprout out out of this one tiny hole. You hurry off to your children with an aching feeling in your heart. Everything was going so well a minute ago. What could have caused this?
There are a lot of things that might have caused your above ground pool leakage. I know that you are shocked but it is important to get a grip of the situation for a second. These questions might be circulating in your head right now:
– Where is this leak coming from?
– Can I fix it?
– Will I still be able to use my above ground pool after this?
– Will it be better to buy a new one?
– What can I do for this not to happen again?
I know that you want answers… And here they are.
Question no. 1: Where is this leak coming from?
– The leak is undoubtedly coming from your above ground pool. The trick is to pin point where it is exactly leaking. One way to trace the origin of the leakage is to wear your goggles and go deep into the water. You have to look for tiny bubbles. The bubbles will definitely be present on the area where the leakage is coming from. The water tends to form bubbles because air comes in through the tini-tiny hole on your above ground pool\’s body.
Question no. 2: Can I fix it?
The answer is yes. Just drain your pool dry and apply plaster on the affected area. But please make sure of two things: 1. Be certain that you do not buy cheap plaster. Buy a high quality one. and 2. Let the plaster dry for a whole day and then apply again. You have to be absolutely convinced that you have patched through the hole on your above ground pool\’s structure.
Question no. 3: Will I still be able to use my above ground pool after this?
Yes, you will be able to use your above ground pool again.
Question no. 4: Will it be better to buy a new one?
No. You can still use your old one. With a little plaster here and there, your above ground pool will function properly.
Question no. 5: What can I do for this not to happen again?
AVOISD LAZINESS AND NEGLIGENCE. Always check out your pool on a 360 radius. You always, ALWAYS have to be on the look out for leakage. Watch your pool like a hawk. Plaster anything that is minor but PLEASE call a professional for the bigger holes.
