Up and Over Doors

Up and over doors are the garage doors that have the ability to swing. Normally, up and over garage doors swing in outward and upward direction.

The main advantage of an up and over garage door is its affordability. Another advantage is the ease of use. There are also readily made up and over garage doors and they come in different sizes but you can also find contractors who can customize this type of garage door for you.

A disadvantage of up and over garage door is more space is necessary. You will need to a lot space inside and outside the garage for the swinging part. It is not for individuals who have a limited space for their garage.

Swing Hung Doors

Swing hung doors are also called the traditional garage doors. A side of the door is fixed to the wall. It swings outward or inward to open. It is rare to find an automatic swing hung garage door. It is best for individuals who want a traditional garage door. It is not best for individuals who hate going out the car to open the garage door and going back to the car to drive and park it inside.

Like up and over garage doors, it requires more space. It is not best for individuals who have constrictive garage. One of its advantages is that it is less expensive than the three other types of garage doors.

Roller Doors

Roller garage doors are the simplest type of garage door. It opens by rolling upwards. The parts will usually be folded at the upper part of the garage entry. Most of the garage doors of this type are automatic.

Rollers garage doors are great because they do not take much space unlike the up and over garage doors. In fact, it is the ideal type of door for small garages. Plus, it is ideal for places where rain or storm is predominant. It is automatic so you do not have to go out of the car to open it.

On the other hand, a roller garage door\’s disadvantage is that it is more expensive. Setting it up may also be more complicated than installing a swing hung door.

Sectional Garage Doors

A sectional garage door is like a roller garage door in a sense that it does not require much space. It does not swing or flip to open so it does not require extra space inside or outside the garage. It is much like the roller garage door because it goes up to open. However, it does not roll or fold. A sectional garage door is divided into many sections to be flexible. It slides up your ceiling to open.

Its flexibility is one of the advantages of sectional garage doors. Plus, it saves space like roller garage doors.
