History of Body Logic Massage
There are many types of massage therapy that are specially designed in providing permanent relief from acute and chronic painful conditions. These healing modalities are developed to fit the medical needs of each individual depending on their cases. However, there are many factors that contribute to the success and effectiveness of the therapy aside from the technique.
Body Logic massage therapy is a type of systematic bodywork that involves the manual manipulation of the muscle tissues and skeletal system of the human body in order to free the client from painful and devastating conditions due to misalignment of bones and poor posture. The treatment involves passive yoga and corrective stretching on the tissues and the proper maneuvering and setting of the bones in their natural places to recover their healthy state to function at their best.
Body Logic massage was developed by Yamuna Zake who was a Yoga practitioner. She was born in Miami Beach and later on her family moved in a Chicago suburb where she grew up and got her education. Yamuna never had a formal training in any type of bodywork therapy which made her design her own therapy. It was the sheer desire of creating a natural treatment method that can solve problems of the human body that can be devastating when left untreated. By the time she was 14, she began to take Yoga lessons where she had her first series of education in meditation and medical care. At the young age of 16, she began to share her knowledge to the public by becoming a Yoga instructor herself. She was able to teach in various countries all over the world as she was moving from one place to another during the summer of the year.
By the time Yamuna reached college, she was able to attend seminars and lectures regarding various physical therapies including gesalt, primal scream, and bioenergetics. Through the years of constant exposure to all of these valuable medical practices, however it was not until she gave birth to her daughter. Her post natal problem was the injury on her left hip where her bones separated. This painful musculoskeletal condition paved the way for the creation of Body Logic massage as Yamuna was determined in finding the permanent solution to her health issue after the disappointment of not acquiring relief from the other therapies she had tried. Eventually she healed her condition and her left hip was back to normal after 10 days of intensive treatment of twisting and stretching. Yamuna began to treat her yoga students from their ailments including injuries by setting the bones in proper alignment with the whole body. The whole experimental therapy soon gained popularity as an effective healing modality.
Today, there are many health centers and massage spas all around the world that practices and performs Body Logic therapy. Make sure that you check the track record of your massage therapist in order to guarantee safety and best results from your therapy session. This move can help keep the risks of the treatment reduced significantly.
