How to Create an Email Marketing List
An email marketing list is a tool that many businesses use to spread word about their products or services using electronic messages sent to an audience via the Internet. It is perhaps the cheapest way for a company to establish contact with potential customers and to keep in touch with those who had already tried their products. Sending information about special offers or about an upcoming sale, or even email newsletters to existing customers would greatly enhance loyalty and could also pique a customer\’s interest to visit one\’s store or establishment when they are reminded about one\’s products.
Building the email marketing list is the most important tactic to make one succeed in email marketing. There are various sources online from which one can find new customers and develop new leads, thus increasing one\’s customer base which would then result to an increase in income.
To get a list of targeted subscribers, the company should include an opt-in box on every page of its website; the opt-in box should be not just on the homepage, but on every page that people will be led to through clicking on articles and links. Offering incentives such as a free video, a free tutorial, or special offers that a potential customer can get only when making a purchase from the website can be a great attraction to would – be customers. Downloadable e-books and guides which they can get when they provide their email addresses are also good incentives to targeted customers.
Creating a profile on social websites such as Facebook could also gather leads. In order to do this, one should provide a link to the opt-in page of one\’s company website from one\’s profile created in any social website like Twitter, Linked In, and Netlog, to name a few. Article writing is also one tried and true method that helps build an email marketing list. Great articles that interest the readers would lead them all the way to the end and up to the resource box where a link should be provided to lead them to the company\’s website.
It is also important for one to be particularly meticulous in the presentation of one\’s website. Design and content should be attractive to the targeted customers and must show professionalism in the layout. Bad grammar and mistakes in spelling in the information found in the company\’s webpage, in the articles uploaded, and in emails sent, projects a bad impression and gives a feeling of distaste to the audience. Most likely, visitors to this kind of website would not read through the end of the page, thus skipping the link that would have connected them to information about the products that the company has to offer.
In order to evaluate the results of a marketing strategy, one needs to gauge and keep track of everything done to promote one\’s business. Therefore, to be able to do this when using email marketing, one must have a software that gives information about the responses that the emails sent had obtained.
