Not remembering all kind of things in daily life can be increasingly problematic. When you go to the grocery store for your shopping’s and at the store you cannot recall what you planned to eat that day it is not a big thing. You can make new plans for the meal at that moment.
However there are situations where forgetting (like an important appointment) may be harmful to you.
Maybe you think there is nothing to do about that. Lucky for you: in that case you are wrong!

Just In a Moment.
We think the memory works very fast and there is no way of having influence on how it works. But it really takes some time and that time can be used.
Research has proven, that when you are more present and conscious at the moment you need to store something in your (long-term) memory, the better result you will accomplish.
After putting things down without any notice most people recognize the situation they don’t remember the place of these things. You have to search for it or ask your wife if she knows where it is (or where she putted it). Maybe you get irritated or become angry at something or someone else, just because you don’t remember and can’t find your car keys.

Way Out of Forgetting.
You can improve your memory in a simple way. Just see to it that you are in the present with your attention at all kinds of situations you receive information that is essential to you. E.g. when you speak out loud to yourself at the moment you put your favorite pencil at a certain place and saying where you put it, in all probability you will remember this at a later point of time.
Disturbance is The Enemy
When other people are talking to you, or there is loud music, or people making noise in your neighborhood, or your phone is ringing at the moment you should pay attention to remember something, it is very likely you will not store the information and thus forget it at the time passing by.
Concentration Is The Message.
Avoid these disturbing situations or make sure you ignore them and with all strength you have concentrate and pay full attention on the subject to jog your memory with.
As stated above, stimulate your memory by full concentration on the matter concerned. Be in the present and don’t let you be disturbed by other thoughts or interruptions. You will discover this is of great importance to improve your memory and brain capacity.
Use Every Situation to Exercise Your Memory.
After reading an article in a magazine or in the news paper, tell your partner or your friend about what you learned by that. Check how much you are able to recall. By repeating this exercise you’ll find out that your memory capacity is growing very fast.
Or after watching a television show recall the names of as many people who were in that show. Focusing on that while watching the show you’ll discover the power of concentration and being fully present. Repeat this exercise frequently and you will also distinguish a growth in brain capacity and improvement of your memory.
Information in Proper Context.
It’s important to store the information in a proper context. If it is only for yourself when you write down a note, then you are the only one who needs to understand the meaning of something. Just a cross with a pen on your hand is probably enough to remember to give a certain person a ring. Nobody else will understand the meaning of that cross on your hand.
If you want to remember things over a period of time, you need more context to the reminder. This is the case with the cross mentioned before or a simple note on a piece of paper as well as it is with storing the information into your mind.
