How To Pack For Your Tropical Vacation

Packing for vacation has always been a daunting task. You want to make sure you have everything you need and then some. You\’ve got enough clothes and other items to fill 3 suitcases. Are you sure you need to take everything but the kitchen sink? The answer is a resounding NO!

Packing for a tropical vacation is so easy. You\’re going there to relax, by the pool or the beach, do a little shopping and eat out. So what do you need? Think of the word: CASUAL.

2 Swimsuits
3 Sarongs
1 air of shorts
1 tank top
2 large beach towels
1 beachbag
1 pair of sandals
1 pair of sneakers
1 pair of dress shoes
1 sexy after 5 dress
Underwear for 5 days of course
Miscellaneous toiletries (perfume, anti-perspirant, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, etc)

That was easy, right? Of course it was. Now the question is, What is a sarong and why do I need 3 of them?

Sarongs are the most versatile pieces a woman can have in her wardrobe, especially if you\’re going on a tropical vacation. But they\’re not just for the tropics. You can wear them around the house, your own backyard and even out to dinner. It all depends on how you tie it.

Tie it you say? Yes, that\’s what so versatile about them. You can wear them as a skirt, tied around your hips or your waist or wear them as a dress tied either right above your breast or around your neck. You can even
purchase sarong ties which keeps the sarong tightly pressed against your body. No worry about the knot coming loose.

Sarongs are not just for the beach. They are very popular in the tropics and worn by women daily, doing everything; shopping, dining, poolside or at the beach. You\’ll feel very comfortable wearing one, although it is
recommended you wear something under it. But that\’s up to you.

So how do women (and men) tie their sarongs? Men wear them wrapped around the waist. But women… that\’s were the versatility comes in. Here are several ways you can \”tie one on.\”

Skirt or Beach Wrap
Hold the top corners of the sarong with arms outstretched (one corner in each hand).
Wrap sarong around lower body and tie at the waist.(Tie in the front or on the side)

Shawl or Jacket
Place sarong over shoulder like a shawl.
Hold sarong together in the middle and lift one arm (should look similar to a butterfly wing).
Tie a knot using the corners of the sarong that are hanging in front and behind your arm. (This creates a \”sleeve\” for your arm to go into).
Repeat step three for the other arm.

Halter Dress
Hold sarong against your back with arms outstretched, holding the top two corners.
Tie corners in a knot and tighten on body.
Twist hanging fabric (the two pieces that you just tied) three times tightly.
Tie the two pieces behind your neck, like a halter.

Strapless and Sexy
Hold sarong against your back with arms outstretched, holding the top two corners.
Tie corners in a knot and tighten on body.
Twist hanging fabric once (the two pieces that you just tied) then wrap them toward the back of your body and tuck them into the upper portion of the sarong.

Now you are ready for your Hawaiian vacation. Down to one suitcase and able to dress like you belong in the tropics. Oh, don\’t forget your flowered hair clip!
