What Strikes First
The first signs of Alzheimer’s Disease are usually memory lapses. Things that happened today or yesterday are totally lost in the memory of the patient. Even when someone else tries to remind them of the situation or what has been said, they still don’s remember. It is like a black hole in their brain.
It starts with little things. Relatives possibly even do not notice, because the sufferers can be rather clever in hiding their not remembering.
At a certain moment arises a severe brain damage with direct consequences in a person’s daily life (think of work, social activities and family life). Communication, learning (like how to use a new remote control or a new telephone) are increasingly difficult.
Their ability in thinking is affected, also resulting in a limited possibility of logical reasoning.

Simple tasks form daily life, like preparing a meal or using tools where they were familiar with in the past is really a problem for them now.

It is difficult to determine whether someone has the disease. If a person shows a couple or even almost all of these symptoms, it still does not mean he or she absolutely has the disease.

1. Telling the same story, again and again, word for word.
2. Repeatedly asking the same question not remembering they already asked it.
3. Problems with performing familiar tasks like: Preparing the meal, or how to do simple repairs in the house, or how to use a telephone. All kinds of activities that were normally done regularity and with ease.
4. Problems with financial activities like paying bills or balance one\’s checkbook.
5. Getting lost in familiar surroundings, or household objects cannot be found even though they lie in their normal place.
6. Forgetting to bathe and neglecting their physical care. Not shaving and wearing the same clothes day after day, while swearing that the did put on clean clothes.
7. growing inability to make their own decisions. Someone else had to make their decisions, like their spouse. They also find it hard to answer questions they in the past would have themselves.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association there are 10 warning signs. A couple of them are described in the previous paragraph. Below we give you the additional signs of Alzheimers:
