Risks of Continuum Movement

Almost all types of bodyworks and natural therapies have their pros and cons when it comes to medical care. The risks and dangers involved are always around the corner waiting for any wrong move on the part of the practitioner and the client. However, there are ways on how to prevent you from ever experiencing these unwanted effects from a therapy session.

Movement is a God-given skill and privilege to any living thing so that any desire or purpose can be achieved. However, as we live in this earth, gravity gets the best of us as it does great impact on the way we move. As a result, we end up experiencing various unwanted physical conditions due to the effect of the earth pulling our body. Although the gravity can be blamed for our improper motion, we can still correct this through a specially designed therapy capable of improving our health with the same method that caused the problems which is movement.

Continuum movement is used by medical care practitioners as the act of educating a person on the correct movement to attain good health both in the body and in mind. The therapy conducts movement that are dance-like in motion to encourage blood flow, lymphatic drainage, oxygen flow, strengthen all aspects of the human body, and to boost the immune system of the client. Aside from the health benefits we can get, the therapy also acts as an exercise in keeping our body fit.

However, in view of how the acrobatic treatment is performed, it is strongly suggested only to individuals who are capable of doing the beneficial stunts above the ground while hanging on to something. The idea of hanging the body is to create free and fluid movements that are hard to perform when we are on the ground. Performing the technique will take some of our strength in order to prevent injuries and accidents from happening during the therapy session.

The risks and dangers involved in a Continuum movement therapy are possible broken or dislocated bones due to the improper movement or turning of any part of the body while being suppressed from fabricated equipment. The muscle tissues can also be damaged from any wrong twisting or uncalculated movement on the part of the client during the session. Nerves can be entrapped on the muscle tissues as the client acquires injuries from the natural and athletic treatment. Longer than required time of spending in a position can also lead to problems such as too much blood going to the head, especially in inverted positions. Improper transition from one posture to the other is usually the cause of injuries and accidents during the therapy session. It is important to pay attention on the instructor as it can save the client from imminent danger.

The guidance of a good therapist or practitioner is very important in this type of therapy in order to avoid having additional physical problems during and after the therapy session. A well trained practitioner knows the correct range of motion in every position and is good in providing gentle and fluid transition.
