Ask About These Features Before You Book Your Next Business Hotel Stay
When you are traveling for business there are a few basic features you should expect from a quality business hotel. When you are searching for the right hotel having a simple list of the features you want and asking about them upfront before you book your room could save you from a terrible experience. You do not want t arrive at your hotel the evening before a big conference or client meeting only to find the hotel does not provide a service you were counting on. Here is a list of features that you should feel confident asking about before booking a hotel for your next business trip.
In today’s digital age, staying connected with clients, our home office and even our families while traveling is not just a luxury it is something that has become expected of us. Almost every hotel in modern developed countries offers WiFi access to their guests. Occasionally a resort retreat that specializes in allowing you to get away from it all may not include access but any hotel you are considering for a business trip should be expected to provide that service to you. If a hotel does not have wireless internet access you should take that as a red flag that the place could be old and run down or have very low customer service. Some hotels may offer free access to their guests while others will charge a daily fee for using that service.
Another feature travelers do not think to ask about that could be very important for you business trip, are details about the hotel rooms electrical sockets. This might seem like a random question but with so many different gadgets in today’s business arsenal it is important to have a number of outlets in your business hotel room so that you can keep all of your tools charged and be ready for a days work. If you are traveling over seas be sure to ask about adaptors for your cell phone, lap top and other items that require frequent charging. Many high end international hotels will bring the appropriate adapters to your room if you request them and some of the best will just have them waiting for you when you arrive. You should never assume that a hotel will have the proper adaptors. You should inquire about them when you make your reservation so you can bring one with you if they are not provided.
Nothing starts off a business traveler’s day right like a good cup of coffee. Many people who travel for business have a hard time getting moving in the morning so having the ability to brew your own coffee in your room can be a treat. Make sure you ask the hotel reservationist if there will be a coffee pot in your room. Some hotels take this a step further and offer their guest complimentary breakfast in the business lounge or hotel lobby.
While our last feature is not a must have it can make staying in shape and unwinding while you travel for business a lot easier. Check to see if the hotel offers a fitness center. Many hotels have one that is open 24 hours a day so no matter what time you finish working for the day you can still head to the gym for a little exercise before turning in.
