One of the biggest decisions facing a couple due to be married is over where they are going to do it. Two of the most popular choices for Essex couples looking are at local venues or heading off to a sun kissed beach in the Caribbean.

These two ways of tying the knot are so radically different from each other that it is worth looking at some of the issues to see whether we can work out which the best in each case is.

Thinking about the Guests

One of the great things about choosing wedding venues in Essex is that you get to invite all of the members of both families along. Seeing your parents dancing the foxtrot badly or your Uncle Harry trying to convince people that the hand jive is still a valid dancing option might not be your idea of fun but would you want to be without it? In the end, the decision comes down to the couple’s ideas on the day. If they want to get away from it all then heading to the other side of the world probably appeals to them.

The Paperwork Problems

If you go away with a professional Caribbean wedding firm you shouldn’t really have any problems. However, if anything does go wrong then it will be a lot more difficult to fix it in time. Choosing Essex wedding venues and being close to home means that it should be relatively simple to get any issues or misunderstandings resolved quickly. In both cases the majority of couples avoid any sort of serious problems but on balance being close to home probably gives a greater degree of confidence to anyone who tends to worry about these things.

The Weather

If you love the heat then you are unlikely to choose Essex over the Caribbean at any time of your life. You may be surprised to find that a lot of exotic beach weddings take place at night time to avoid the intense daytime heat but it will still be hot and sticky when you take the vows. We all know that the UK weather is nothing if not unpredictable but with the accuracy of modern long range forecasts you should be able to make a good stab at knowing what to expect on the big day. Some people just can’t imagine themselves getting married in tropical weather while others would do anything to get guaranteed sun on their face while they do it.

However, it is fair to say that most of us instinctively know what kind of wedding would be right for us. It seems that the best idea is to go with our instincts and hope that our partner isn’t dreaming of getting married in beach sandals while we are picturing Uncle Harry rolling back the years on the dance floor.
