Healthy Living With Royal Jelly

There are many reasons to supplement your daily diet with royal jelly. We live in such a fast-paced world that quite often we do not find the time to consider the true nutritional benefit of the foods we eat. Many of these foods are \’fast\’ and heavily processed foods, devoid of the real nutrients that our body needs to function effectively. This is why supplementation has become so important, a high percentage of people in Western society now rely on vitamin supplements to fill in the gap that our nutrient-drained foods leave behind.

So what type of vitamin supplement should we consider, what works best?

Well it is common for most people to follow the heard and to take a basic multi-vitamin alongside their meals. But what benefit, if any, do these types of products really have? Vitamin supplements are just that, they\’re an assortment of various types of vitamins ranging from Vitamin A, through the B vitamins and covering D and E groups. Some of these multivitamin supplements are also formulated with minerals to support the body in different ways, occasionally they may have an assortment of natural herbs, grouped together to target a specific benefit or specific gender or age group. So in terms of what they are designed to do, they work quite well. But they are not \’foods\’ per se. They do not supplement other types of nutrients such as proteins, complex carbohydrates and the essential amino acids. This is where bee products like royal jelly come into play. Bee pollen, royal jelly and propolis and substances we find inside of the beehive and they are so much more effective than any multivitamin can ever be. They are classified as \’foods\’ and in a sense that\’s exactly what they are. They are rich in the proteins, fatty acids, amino-acids and carbs that our body needs to function efficiently. When we think of carbs and fats we think about perhaps gaining weight, but that\’s not the case here since we\’re talking about very small quantities and we\’re talking about optimized nutrients and not the types of high GI fats and sugars that we ingest with our processed fast-foods.

Royal jelly is a nutrient dense food substance which is created within the environment of the the beehive to nourish the queen bee. The effect of the royal jelly on the queen is quite staggering. She lives considerably longer than the common worker bees or drones, she grows larger and is bestowed with remarkable powers of longevity and reproduction.

So why wouldn\’t we look more closely at this substance and try to ascertain ways in which its benefits within the confines of the beehive might be realized on ourselves.

When we start to look closely at the nutrients in royal jelly we start to understand where these potential benefits may arise –

Just a few of the commonly associated benefits of royal jelly include* –

– More energy and stamina

– Weight Loss

– Healthier skin / hair / nails

– More youthful appearance

– Strengthened immune system

– Reproductive health – fertility

– More resilience to colds/flu

– Reduced feelings of stress etc.

If these are said to be the benefits of royal jelly then these are indeed bold claims. Whilst I\’m not proclaiming them to be fact, I am saying that there\’s growing evidence in the scientific and medical community that these claims are not entirely without some basis in truth.

When we look at the nutrients, and bear in mind that a true examination of the nutritional content of any substance is quite simple and the results conclusive, we start to understand the links between what we see and the benefits which we perceive. The immune system in our body is supported by amino acids, some of which can only be absorbed through the foods we ingest. The immune system plays a vital role in keeping us free from disease and ill health. Free radical cells in the body are responsible for causing cell mutations and are a contributing cause behind many diseases including cancer, heart disease, arthritis, alzheimers and more. Free radicals are generally created from the addition of things like toxins or radiation or poor digestive function. The antidote to these harmful free radicals is the “antioxidant”. These antioxidants fight the free radicals and work to remove them from your system. We are capable of producing these antioxidants but mostly they most come to us through the foods which we eat, foods which are known to be high in antioxidants such as fruit and vegetables. But in a poor diet, these are often the things which are lacking, so we need to replace them with supplementation, and it just so happens that royal jelly contains exactly what we need. So the connection is made. Not directly with tests and lab studies on human beings, but through the logical correlation and corroboration of known facts and data.

There are many more components of royal jelly which lead us towards similar corroborating evidence, all suggesting this this substance can play a key role in our needs for certain types of nutrition.

Take the time to do your own reading and research, then embrace the potency of royal jelly and bee pollen into your everyday diet regimen.
