Increasing Sales With The Right Store Design
The quality and the salability of the items that you are selling will matter. But, what also matters is the design of your retail store. Remember that the design can entice people to come into your store and look at what you have to offer.
Emphasize your best products. You need to be able to know how to properly display what you are selling. You can learn from what you see in other stores in the market or inside malls. Notice that they have large windows that display interesting products. You can also make use of such tactic. But aside from displaying at the windows, you can also make sure that you place emphasis on your best-selling or the items that you think would sell pretty well. They need to be placed inside of the room. Also, using lights to stress them out or give attention to them will work.
The items that you will place on the corners of your store can be the ones that you do not really want to put great emphasis too. They can be old items that will not provide the best images to your store. But since you will still want to sell them, do not place them too far back into your store.
Welcome your customers. This means that you need to entice your customers when they are looking from the window or at the entrance of your store.
There should be enough space for them to walk in comfortably. As much as possible do not place shelves directly in front of or very near the entrance. This can provide a feeling of being blocked off from entering a certain room.
Some stores have salespersons stationed at the entrance to welcome the guests. This can also be a good idea. But, make sure that you consider the space of your store, your expenses in having to employ another person for the task, and the type of store that you have.
Make it comfortable. Do not display items that hang overhead and make it harder for your potential buyers to walk under. They can even become safety hazards. Comfort for your customers can also be ensured if you avoid having shelves that are too high for them to reach.
Use lights. Aside from using lights to emphasize products, you can also use them to set the mood in your store. Use dimmed lights to make the mood relaxed. But, have bright lights to showcase the products that you are selling.
Recessed lights are best used on corners and prevent them from staying dark. The brighter lights are usually placed in the middle of the room or your store as the middle part is also the place where your merchandise is mostly displayed.
Make sure there is enough space. Space should be allotted for your product displays. Avoid placing too many shelves or items and crowd a small area. Also, there should be enough space for your customers. The passageways between shelves should be enough and make it easy to access other parts of your store.
