This can not only destroy your home, it can be extremely dangerous. Even if your house does not burn, the air quality is going to be dangerous if there is constant burning. These are questions you need to have answered before investing in a home.

Learn about the crime in the area. Few locations are completely crime free. However, there are crimes you can deal with and ones you cannot. If you live in a relatively safe area that might have seen one or two minor burglaries or vandalizing incidents over the years, you are likely going to be fairly safe. Even if crime is a little higher than that, you can take steps to protect your home and your family. However, if there are frequent crimes and there seems to be a lot of danger in the area, you might want to look elsewhere.

You should also find out how long previous homeowners have lived in the house, ask previous owners why they moved to a different location.
