In recent years the demand for American confectionery, drinks and food has become a lot more popular – there are a several reasons for this increased demand.
We are exposed to American culture through a variety of mediums including television, films, books and magazines. Although product placement is only a new concept in the UK, it has been around in America for years. Through product placement we are subconsciously introduced to American foods and confectionery, as well as other things such as the latest products in technology.
The UK is also one of the largest consumers of American sweets because there are are a large amount of Americans living and working here. These Americans will then introduce their favourite sweets to their colleagues who in turn will create more demand.
