A Review of the Esteban Carreras 211 Cigar
The Esteban Carreras 211 is billed as being another great success from Craig Cunningham. Since two of the other lines were named after police codes, this one was decided to follow that same premise.
The company did release that the two hundred and eleven is a number in police code for robbery. This is always a fun fact to know, especially from this company.
The wrapper for the Esteban Carreras 211 is the same that is used on a well-known product, the Davidoff Millennium. That is an Ecuadorian hybrid tobacco.
The binder and filler are both Nicaraguan tobacco and vitolas are available. They are available in the following four sizes:
– Toro: 6 by 50
– Torpedo: 6 3/4 by 52
– Corona: 6 by 44
– Sixty: 6 by 60
The Esteban Carreras 211 Toro vitola was reviewed recently, and the reviews were extremely favorable. It was noted that the pre-light draw featured flavors of spice and notes of earthiness.
Once the cigar was lit, the earthiness persisted but was complemented with hints of cocoa. In the background there was an even more subtle hint of peppery spiciness. Into the first third, there was a creaminess that was introduced.
This went well with the slight cocoa notes that were introduced beforehand. This chocolate and cream taste stayed dominant, and the earthiness still remained in the background as did the peppery taste. This was the flavor profile that remained through much of the first two thirds of the smoke.
Toward the final third of the cigar, the peppery flavoring made a comeback and moved back in as the primary flavor. It had a really nice spicy kick. The finish was nice and smooth. The nub was not hot to the touch, and it stayed firm.
The Esteban Carreras 211 is considered to be a very well-constructed cigar. Burn and draw were both rated extremely high by the reviewers. Both the burn temperature and burn rate were rated as being completely perfect.
Once someone smokes an Esteban Carreras 211, there are a couple of things that they will find to stand out, and that is that it is smooth and well-balanced. The flavor is not overpowering, which balances the strength and the body with symmetry.
The nicotine is noticeable but not overwhelming as would be found in stronger types of cigars. This is definitely defined as being a medium-bodied cigar.
There is a complexity to this cigar while it isn’t overly complicated. This leaves a smoke that is great enough to be hailed by aficionados but mild enough to appeal to those who might be considered or consider themselves as novices.
The reviewers all agreed that this was definitely one of the items that should be included in each and every humidor. The aging process is likely to only enhance the flavor notes that are already ever present and give it an even more pleasantly surprising boost to the palate. As the popularity increases so does the demand, so, this one may be extremely difficult to find very shortly.
