How to Succeed in Network Marketing – The Real Truth

There is a lot of negative stigma about the network marketing industry in 2012. It isn\’t because network marketing is a bad business model. It is a direct result of false claims made by certain network marketing companies and those who are at the top of certain organizations. If someone joins a network marketing business and believes that they will have success within their organization by only referring a couple of people, they are misunderstanding what the concept of network marketing is all about.

Companies that use the network marketing business model, do so to get the word out about products and services that they are selling. If you had a traditional sales job and only told a couple of people about the products and services affiliated with the company that you are working for, you wouldn\’t keep that job for very long. Now, network marketing is not a sales position, but the purpose is to get the word out about the products to as many people as possible. That is why it\’s called network marketing.

Unlike a sales job that requires meeting a quota, in a network marketing business, your job isn\’t to sell anything to anyone. Your job is to educate people about the products and services that your company has to offer. Network marketing makes sense from a practical standpoint because instead of a company having to pay out thousands of dollars on the front end, they can simply pay a small group of distributors to get the word out after the sale is made. This becomes a viral mechanism of advertising that does not depend on an upfront advertising budget.

There is one thing that you must have if you want to be successful in network marketing and that is determination. You have to be passionate about the products and services that you are telling people about. If you don\’t have any passion, you don\’t have a driving force pushing you forward. Eventually, once you have an organization that continues to grow on its own, you can scale back your personal advertising efforts and start to help members on your team. This is why the income earned in a network marketing business is called walkaway residual income. You can literally earn a full-time income month after month and year after year without having to perpetually put forth effort in building the business.

In the beginning phases of building your network marketing business however, you will have to put forth effort. You will probably have to start your network marketing business in addition to a full-time job. This means you will have a part-time job and a full-time job at the same time because a network marketing business definitely has responsibility associated with it. If you plan on the network marketing business becoming successful, you are going to have to do what you have to do to make it successful. The cool thing is that there is no limit to the amount of residual income that you can earn in a network marketing opportunity if you have the drive and determination to see it through to what it can ultimately become.
