We have three favorite family neighborhoods in East Boca Raton. Palm Beach Farms, Camino Gardens, and Royal Palms are all excellent communities, with each having different qualities that make them local favorites.

Palm Beach Farms is a beautiful community comprised of single family homes and estate homes in east Boca Raton. This non-gated community is located just west of Dixie Highway off of 18th Street. This is one of the most desirable family neighborhoods in Boca Raton due to the excellent location near the beaches, Mizner Park, and Addison Mizner Elementary school. This area is also surrounded by excellent private schools such as Children’s House Montessori, Claremont Montessori, St. Andrews, and Pinecrest.

Palm Beach Farms has a beautiful neighborhood park in the center of the community called Breezy Pine Park, an area surrounded by beautiful estate homes. Home prices in this area range anywhere from $225,000 (for short sale homes) to $1,700,000.

A proposal has just been approved to place an 80 foot cell phone tower at the west end of the development. There has been some opposition from neighbors, but it looks as if it has already been approved. The shame of it is that the tower does not need to be approved by the City Council or the Planning and Zoning Board.

Camino Gardens is an exclusive, waterfront community located in east Boca Raton, just west of Dixie Highway off of Camino Real Blvd. Camino Gardens features more than 431 single-family, ranch-style homes, many of which are waterfront homes including private dockage with ocean access. This neighborhood was originally home to the Africa USA theme park and was developed into a family friendly community. This homes here typically feature ceramic tile floors, skylight interiors, walk-in closets, patios, swimming pools and lakefront views. The homes are situated on lots averaging half an acre in size, with the average price of a home in Camino Gardens ranging between $320,000 and $1,199,000.

This neighborhood is one of only wonderful communities in Boca Raton that does not require HOA fees. There are both dry lots and waterfront lots with dockage available. Not only is Camino Gardens steps away from the Mizner Park area, it’s just a 5 minute drive to the beautiful stretches of beach in Boca Raton, FL. This area is also served by A-rated schools and top notch medical care facilities, making it a popular choice for families in this area who wish to live East. The Fresh Market and other popular retailers lie just outside of this gated neighborhood, making for a convenient shopping area for residents.

Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club is a waterfront community in east Boca Raton, located off of Federal Highway and Camino Real. This community is situated just south of the exquisite Boca Raton Resort and Club. These waterfront homes in Boca Raton are located on deepwater canals with ocean access through the beautiful Intracoastal Waterways. Royal Palm Yacht Club features approximately 710 single family homes ranging in size from 2500-15,000 square feet.

Located in a nautical area, this community is perfect for boat lovers and golf lovers alike. Royal Palm includes a new, Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, making this a golfer’s haven. This community also features a new seven thousand foot fitness center and a new golf clubhouse.

The Royal Palm Yacht Club is one of the few remaining private, invitation only clubs existing in the Boca Raton area. A country club equity membership is not required. The Club’s facilities also include six lighted clay tennis courts, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a fully equipped marina, a golf practice range with two chip and putting practice areas, two championship croquet courts, and the Yacht Club. The Yacht Club features a main dining room with seating available for 300 with a permanent dance floor for those interested in holding an event here. The Commodore Grille room offers seating for 160 for informal dining occasions. The Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club community is served by three excellent, A-rated public schools: Boca Raton Elementary, Boca Raton Middle, and Boca Raton High School.

The Royal Palm Yacht Club has a wide range of single family homes available. Smaller 3 bedroom homes start around $500,000, and luxury waterfront mansions can run up to $16.5 million. The exception to these prices would be the occasional short sale or foreclosure in the Boca Raton area. Though this is less common than it would be in most communities, these do become available on occasion.
