Tips in Selecting Your Medical Scrubs
Medical scrubs are the most famous uniforms for medical practitioners on almost any part of the world. And although these scrubs look almost the same, there are certain differences that you need to take note of when you are going to purchase your first scrub suit.
The first aspect that you need to look into is the durability of the uniform. It should be well done. The fabric should be thick enough to last a few months or years of heavy usage. The stitches should likewise be done well. They need to be effectively made to make sure that they the scrubs do not disintegrate after some time.
This factor can further be related to the quality that the product has. So, make sure that you inspect the item before you decide to buy it. Look at the quality of the material used. Also check how the scrub suit is made.
Furthermore, you have to choose the right kind of material. There are fabrics that are thin and will not be suitable for your work in the hospital. However, there are also those that are too thick and will be too warm to use when at work. This, however, will be beneficial when you are in a place where the cold weather tends to be too harsh. So, a thicker uniform will even keep you warm while you are on duty.
There are a lot of colors that you can choose from. The most common are those that come in green and blue. Make sure that the color that you are going to choose to have will be allowed by the organization that you are working in. There can be some companies that require you to wear only a certain type and a certain color of scrubs for this purpose.
There are also those that have prints. This can be best to have if you are working with kids. You can have child-friendly designs printed in your scrubs.
The styles of the scrubs will also matter. There are those that have round neck cuts while there are also those that have v-neck cuts. The lengths of the sleeves also vary. There are short ones that are a little over the shoulders while there are those that fall just before the elbows. For your pants, decide if you want to have pants that are made with buttons or those that have drawstrings.
The size of your uniform should be just right. The ‘right’ fitting for scrubs is that it has to be a little loose. This increases your comfort. Also, it allows you to freely move your body, your arms, and your legs.
If you noticed, there are pockets in your scrub suit. Decide how mane you want. The most comfortable will be for you to have at least two. One will be in front of the blouse, the other will be at the back of your pants. You may also add another pocket parallel to the first pocket to balance the look of the blouse.
