Change Your Paradigm And Stop Smoking!
Could a simple shift in your paradigm be the solution to your smoking dilemma? I’m Dr. Patricia Gulley author of “21 THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PARADIGM” AND “THINK, BELIEVE, AND RECEIVE”. Smoking is an addiction that causes many health problems to an astonishing amount of people daily. More than half of these people wish they could quit and most of them have tried numerous times. What is the secret to being able to put down a cigarette and walk away from it for good? Could the solution to this challenge be as easy as changing your paradigm?
You may have come across this information because you would like to quit smoking and have tried everything on the market with no success. However, you are probably wondering what a paradigm is and how it is to be changed. Simply put a paradigm is a multitude of environmental habits that started even from birth. Your paradigm is responsible for your victories as well as where you come up short in specific areas of your life. The good news is that it can be changed, and with this change you will seize great opportunity for accomplishment.
So, you have decided that it could not hurt to try changing your paradigm in an attempt to quit smoking. If you have decided that you are going to try this strategy you will need to understand how one would go about changing their paradigm. Let\’s take a look at the steps you will need to follow in order to achieve your goal.
Your first step is to understand that quitting “cold turkey” really will not happen without a lot of thought leading up to you actually quitting this habit. Think about when you first decided to quit smoking. Most likely, you made the decision quickly, saw the goal you ultimately wanted to reach and started running for it. The problem is when you are running for something you rarely take the time to look around you and make sure you are still on the right path. This is probably why you ran into an invisible wall. When dealing with something such as smoking it is essential to understand what the underlying cause of the habit is. You will be unable to stop smoking until you have understanding as to why you started in the first place.
Step number two is to look around once you have slowed down. You will need to understand the cause of you started smoking. Look for patterns in your life, what caused you to start smoking, do you smoke more during certain periods in your life, and are there noticeable triggers that make you crave cigarettes? You will need to search deep inside of yourself to understand the real reason you are falling short at your attempt to quit.
When you have realized what your beliefs and paradigms are you will understand why you behave the way that you do. It is easy to think that you believe in something that subconsciously you do not actually believe in at all. Once you are aware of the deeper reason you have chosen to continue to smoke you will be able to distinguish the cause of the problem. For example, if you are smoking because you are stressed, maybe re-evaluating these small stresses in your life could make it easier for you to stop smoking.
It is possible to change your paradigm and stop smoking if you are willing to look at the bigger picture. In some cases people believe that they are ready to stop smoking but find that without understanding the reasons for this habit in the first place it is impossible. If you have tried multiple times to quit smoking with no success you may benefit from a new outlook. If you truly believe you want to stop and in vision yourself doing it, you will be able to stop smoking.
