First Signs of Menopause
It is important for women to be aware of the first signs of menopause. This is because this stage indicates that she is starting to lose one of the most important hormones of being a woman which is the estrogen. This is a point in woman’s life where her reproductive system starts to deteriorate and suddenly stops producing the said hormone. Estrogen and a bit of progesterone are the hormones responsible for the function and development of the female body aside from getting pregnant or the reproduction process. Medical research has proven that one of the first signs of menopause is the stoppage or altered monthly period. Aside from this, the circulatory system and the nervous system are also quite affected. Bone disorders in women may be experienced during the latter part of menopause when the level of estrogen is already too low to maintain a good bone condition. Poor memory, blurry vision and hair loss may also come in distress during the absence of the hormone estrogen. On the more serious consequence, lack of estrogen may lead to Osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease or worse colon cancer and heart failure. So knowing the first signs of menopause will surely help women to seek early consultation with their physicians on what to do in order not to lead to more complicated conditions.
More often than not, the first signs of menopause are felt as the women reache the age of 50. But maybe due to some external factors, women may begin to feel and show the first signs of menopause while she is still on her early forties. This is called premature menopause. Women are greatly affected when this happens to them. This is because when the first signs of menopause take place during their early forties, the symptoms may last for the next five (5) years or even ten (10) more years. Even women, who went through hysterectomies but still with functioning ovaries, are subject to experience the stoppage of estrogen production and may also experience the first signs of menopause. For early menopausal and for signs and symptoms who have occurred in the early thirties up to the age of sixty, it is highly advisable that you consult your gynaecologists if any treatment is needed for your condition.
Jokes have been made about women easily losing temper over little things. They get easily irritated on something and they do not have any clue why. But crying over the shallowest things, mood swings and getting easily angry are indeed signs and symptoms of menopause. These gestures only means that your hormones are starting to deplete that your body reactions are already being affected. During your menopausal stage, you may also experience hot flashes, excessive sweating at night time and sleepless nights. Getting easily irritated is not the same as getting depressed. They are two (2) distinct emotional stress associated with the change of lifestyle. But depression does not usually attack during the menopausal stage. You are more prone of getting irritated than getting depressed.
Menopause should not be a big thing to deal with. It is normal for a woman to reach this stage; however, it should not be ignored. So better consult your trusted gynaecologist once you reach the menopausal stage.
