Everyone needs an assortment of screwdrivers in different styles, widths and lengths. This is because the screws they need to drive have different heads and the blade of the screwdriver must fit in the screw head. Some screwdriver types are standard tip/round shank, Phillips tip/round shank, and standard tip/square shanked. The square shanked screwdriver can be used with a wrench to increase the torque, which is the force that drives the screw into wood. A short and stubby screwdriver, whether standard or Phillips, can be used to drive screws into tight spots.
