Being a nurse does not solely focus on the physiologic side of a sickness. What is really admirable about the profession is the fact that nurses provide care holistically. Well, the list is really endless. Nurses assume very crucial responsibilities in every corner of the hospital and every inch in our lives. Aside from providing the physiologic need of an individual, nurses are also devoted to fill in our emotional well-being. They grant comfort to an aching woman who is about to deliver a baby, lengthen their patience in dealing with a not so cooperative child and exert their best to reach the expectations of others and deal with the damaging pressures of the society. Indeed, this profession is very much concerned in granting a quality life from conception to death.

Nursing is really a profession that stands out. That is because skills, knowledge and attitude are key ingredients in delivering safe and quality health care. Those who desire to be a successful nurse should spend extra effort to gain the education necessary to become a productive citizen of the country. And when I say knowledge, I don’t mean the information that you can grasp from the streets or during ordinary conversations. Take note, I am referring to technical and medical knowledge. This may sound difficult, but if you really have the dedication and discipline, you can truly pursue this goal. Added to that is the fact that you should also gain hands-on experience to hone your skills in nursing procedures. And lastly, this career involves a lot of human interaction. You need to develop the attitude to be socially appropriate. It also involves perfecting your values – altruism, discipline, perseverance, honesty and dedication to enhance your craft. In that manner, you’ll truly prove that now and beyond, nursing is indeed challenging but satisfying to a great degree.
