Overview of the MBM 207M Paper Folding Machine
If you were to ask me which paper folding machine I would recommend for the typical business, I would have to say the MBM 207M would make my top five list. This machine can be used to create brochures, pamphlets, fold letters and much more. It sure beats folding paper by hand and in the long run is far less expensive than hiring five employees for hours at a time to fold paper by hand. I have to say the results turn out far better as well.
MBM is one of the most respected office equipment manufacturers in the United States. They are a division of IDEAL, a German manufacturer of Destroyit paper shredders, Kutrimmer guillotines and Triumph stack paper cutters. Pretty much everything MBM touches is high quality stuff. Their paper folding machines are no exception.
The MBM 207M is a friction feed, manual set up paper folding machine. I have to say, however, that when it comes to manual setup machines the MBM 207M is probably one of the easiest to use. That is because it utilizes a pinch and slide setup with the two folding plates. All you need to do is find the fold you want to create on the folding plate, pinch the sliding clamp and slide the plate until it lines up with the fold you want to create.
Both folding plates are located on the same side, for added convenience. I can personally set up both folding plates in less than two minutes. This system also results in dead-on accurate folds and the skew seems to always be right on.
The motor runs at a speed of about 10,500 pieces per hour, which means your folding jobs will be done extremely quickly. The drop-in feed tray on this system holds up to 450 sheets of paper, which is almost an entire ream. Because this machine uses a drop-in system, no pre-fanning of the paper is required. This helps keep the feeding system running like a charm.
As mentioned earlier, this is a friction feed machine. That means that it uses rubber rollers to pull paper into the machine. A friction-based system is perfect for folding card stock and standard paper, but isn\’t so good with glossy or coated paper. If you need to fold coated paper, I recommend sending in samples to see if they will work correctly. If they paper doesn\’t work, the rollers will slip on the slick surface and you will end up with a jam.
This machine has some pretty impressive specifications. It can handle paper ranging from 3\” x 5\” up to 12\” x 17.5\”. It can also handle paper as razor thin as 12# bond or as bulky thick as 80# cover. Very few paper folding machines offer this range of paper thicknesses.
The MBM 207M is perfect for churches, schools, print shops, small businesses and other organizations. It can be used for folding invoices, letters, brochures and more. Because it has a powered exit conveyor, it will keep paper in a neat stacked order. This is perfect for invoices and other material that needs to be kept in order.
In conclusion, I have to say that this is one of my favorite machines, bare none. It will hold up for years, features a one-year warranty and comes from one of the best manufacturers around. You will find the MBM 207M at ABCOffice.com.
