Why Paintings of Trees Are So Popular
Paintings of trees are among some of the most popular pieces of art. They are also one of the more popular art subjects for artists to put on to canvas. They don\’t have to be painted in a complex way and can be recreated by using a myriad of colors and shades.
Many artists enjoy doing paintings of trees since they can really be drawn out in any perspective. They don\’t all have to have green leaves and brown trunks. On the contrary, there are many artworks that are the exact opposite. There are some really beautiful abstract pieces that are well worth looking at.
If someone were to just start looking on the internet for paintings of trees, they would soon learn how vast that term spans in the art world. Since they are so often the subject of art, and all people have a different perspective of how things look, it is no wonder that there is such a variety of this type of artwork. There are pieces that reflect the size, be it small or large, and others show the changing of the colors between the seasons, while other pieces tell a story.
Looking at some of the paintings of trees, they do tell a story to the viewer. Depending on what is drawn around them, one can start to unlock what the artist was trying to convey to their viewer.
Maybe it is alone on the canvas, standing tall and valiant, displaying strength and vitality. Or maybe it is withering and leafless, and some of its bark has been blackened with soot. In either case, one can start to get a sense of the emotion that was used to put this piece onto canvas.
Many times artists do paintings of trees in groupings, with their leaves just beginning to grow in early spring. Sometimes they are painted with branches full of foliage giving summer shade to those sitting below it.
Other pieces of artwork display them with branches covered in freshly fallen snow, glistening in the new day sunlight. Some other pieces are much more abstract.
Instead of green leaves, there are a multitude of circles and colors swirling the branches. Rather than stick straight branches, they are curled and entangle one another. Others draw a portrait that takes the viewer much longer to interpret what the artist is trying to convey.
Since a tree can live for hundreds, if not thousands of years, this is another reason for them being such a popular art subject. This is where they can tell a story. If they have been around for that long, think of all it has seen, all that it has been a witness too.
It has been through growth and drought, seen other life come and go, and maybe even nurtured life itself. It played home for animals and insects, and could have lent one of its branches to a swing or two.
It may have even been that foundation of a fort throughout the years. This is where the stories begin, and the artists can bring those to life for the viewer to enjoy.
