Fitness For Life With a Lafayette Personal Trainer

Fitness isn’t just some sort of obsession that weight watchers, sportsmen and women, or workout nuts pursue; it’s actually something that every man, woman, and child should aspire to, says a Lafayette personal trainer. It’s not about a desire to be good looking, or the best at some sort of sport or another, (although for many people these things might be their key motivational factors), it’s about simply getting the best out of your body in ordinary everyday life.

Your body is an extremely complicated mechanism. Whatever your beliefs about creation, and how life got started in the first place, the design of the human body is an amazing piece of engineering. The tissues, the muscles, the organs, the nerve network, and the immune system, along with your Lafayette personal trainer, all work together with a view to keeping us at the pinnacle of health.

But the problem is that as we walk the road of life we get lots of curved balls pitched at us, and if we don’t face up to them and knock them away, we’re never going to make that home run. You might try for a home “limp”, but could easily get struck out!

The fact of the matter is that when we raise our levels of physical fitness, it’s not only our physical “exterior” bodies and muscles that benefit, it’s also our interior bodies too; things like our immune systems, our blood circulation, our blood pressure, our lungs, and even our brains – they benefit too! And if all of the components that go to make up our interior bodies are operating at optimum levels, you’ll drastically lessen the chances of becoming ill or contracting a disease in the first place.

So when we talk about our levels of fitness in this concept, we are thinking about it in a much more holistic way. It’s our entire fitness, internal and external. But to achieve this sort of level of overall fitness, it’s not just regular physical activity we need; we need to re-examine our lifestyles too.

Physical exercise doesn’t have to be tough. Okay if you’re bodybuilding, then pumping iron and doing some more intense cardiovascular stuff will be called for. But for us mere mortals, who are just trying to stay fit and healthy, just 20 to 30 minutes, 3 or 4 times per week will suffice, says a Lafayette personal trainer. You don’t even have to go to the gym.

The best form of exercise is light cardiovascular (no weights), or aerobic. These exercises include things like walking (purposeful walking, not just strolling), jogging, cycling and swimming. Swimming’s particularly good because it’s not weight bearing or jarring, so if you have problems with your joints, (arthritis etc – it can affect all age groups), it’s a great choice. It also has the advantage that it works just about every muscle in your body.

Watching your lifestyle can be a little more challenging for some. Smoking is out, and alcohol needs to be taken in moderation. Things like caffeine need to regulated, and your diet has to be well balanced and healthy. Not too much fatty food (some fat is essential – but make sure it’s the right kind of fat – avoid saturated fats), a moderate amount of carbohydrate, plenty of protein, and fresh fruit and vegetables, and of course the right balance of vitamins and minerals.

By working out a regular, gentle physical exercise routine, getting a Lafayette personal trainer, moderating your diet, and trying to avoid stressful situations, you can drastically improve your overall fitness. You’ll be amazed at just how much better you will feel in yourself. Your immune system will work much more effectively and you’ll soon notice that you’re not falling for very little illness that’s going around.

Increasing your levels of overall fitness does take a little bit of application and determination, but when you stop to think you are gaining – fitness to enable you to enjoy life to the full, it’s a no brainer!
