Head to Head: Lemonade Diet Vs. The Diet Solution

Most people who have struggled with weight issues rely on different diet programs to attain their desired look. With the number of new diet plans that pop up every now and then, one would think that somehow none of them actually works. In reality, most of these dieting fads work to some extent. The problem lies on the person himself or herself. Some who lose weight go into relapse and resort to their old ways. Many depend on crash diets that not only provide temporary results but may endanger one’s health. What one needs to do is to study thoroughly any diet program he or she wishes to undergo before jumping on the bandwagon. Below are a couple of diet programs for you to scrutinize: Lemonade Diet and The Diet Solution.

Lemonade Diet is considered to be one of the longest running weight loss program around, having been in circulation for around 70 years. It was introduced in 1941 as part of the Master Cleanser Program by Stanley Burroughs. It has enjoyed a surge in popularity ever since Beyonce singled out the Lemonade Diet as the reason why she lost 20 pounds in preparation for her role in Dreamgirls. Other personalities who lost weight with the Master Cleanse program are Jared Leto who lost 62 pounds and The Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers.

Also known as the Maple Syrup Diet, it was first intended as a means of detoxifying the body. During this cleansing process people noticed that a substantial amount of weight is lost. This is why this detoxification process became known more as a weight loss regimen. Undergoing this diet will boost your energy, maintain the body’s pH balance, and helps you improve your overall health.

To make a Master Cleanse drink you need to mix together a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice (freshly-squeezed), two tablespoons of organic maple syrup (grade B), a tenth of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1 to 2 cups of pure or filtered water. You can also use alkaline water. You need to complement all those lemonade you take in with water. Aside from battling hunger pangs and prevent headaches, drinking lots of water will help wash out the toxins even more. The duration of the diet depends on the user. Some gets results for as short as 4 to 5 days. Some prefer to last as long as 2 weeks to lose more weight.

As compared to The Diet Solution of Isabel De Los Rios, the Lemonade Diet seems a bit too restricting. The Diet Solution allows you to eat solid foods yet still lose those unsightly fats. De Los Rios, a certified nutritionist and fitness expert, came up with a diet program where the dieter undergoes a series of tests and questions to determine which category he or she fits. Once it is determined that you belong to carb, protein or mixed type or category, then you will be given a certain diet plan containing everything that you are allowed to eat. The secret here is to consume healthier alternatives and ridding yourself of harmful foods like those with hydrogenated fats (e.g. junk food, crackers, and cookies).

Though bought diet programs help lose weight and improve over-all health, the difference is that the Lemonade Diet is like a crash diet that takes a few days to work but does not guarantee a long-term solution. The Diet Solution, meanwhile, works gradually but keeps the excess weight off for a long time, even permanently.
