By roughening up the surface in this way, it creates a surface for the subsequent floor coating or resurfacer to bond to ensuring a long lasting repair that won’t chip or peel off the floor.

– Use a mixture of self-leveling compound and water; prepare it using an electric drill and a big bucket, ensure that the drill has a paddle-bit attachment. The mixture should have a consistency similar to oatmeal. If planning on coating your floor immediately after repairing the potholes and surface imperfections, make sure that the repair mortar is an epoxy based mortar. If a cementitious mortar is used, allow it to cure at least 28 days before applying a floor coating.

– Pour out the mixture onto the floor to first fill the dips that are marked and then apply a 1/2 in thick layer to the surface of the floor. Use a squeegee to evenly spread the mixture over the floor. Allow to dry for approximately four hours before using your new even floor. Allow 48 hours to pass before allowing your employees to use the floor.
