Manchester\’s Hot Property Areas
If you are considering moving to Manchester, the first thing you need to research on is which area is best for purchasing property. Some readers here may also be interested in knowing about the best-rated property areas for renting out or other purposes. Read on for detailed information on this subject.
Central Manchester
Living in the city centre is always attractive for the major lot, and Manchester is no different than any other city in this regard. The city centre attracts hoards of landowners for purchasing property, in fact, the mushrooming of skyscrapers is an evidence to this demand. There is hardly any space left in the centre for horizontal growth so naturally, the only way is up. The Beetham Tower on Deansgate is a 47-storey building, which will soon be known as the UK’s tallest residential building when it is finished. A number of luxury flats are available in Salford for those interested in a high-rise living. Northern Quarter property is another major attraction for residents and estate agents alike.
Some other hot property areas around the city centre include Castlefield, Moss Side and Hulme, which have recently undergone a major transformation in terms of providing better access to the city centre.
South and North Manchester
The southern part of the city contains a little bit of everything from beautiful streets of Bowden covered in leaves to the magnificent Old Trafford. Heading south from the city, you come across the student territory starting from Rusholme to Withington. This part of the city is majorly populated with local as well as international students, which is why it can be a good property choice for landowners interested in renting out to students.
Further on from Withington are bijou Didsbury village and Chorlton, which are among the trendiest and most expensive areas of Manchester. Moving further on the A6 towards Stockport, we find Levenshulme and Longsight, which are thickly populated by Irish community of the city.
As you go further out, you get to even more posh suburbs of Trafford such as Stretford, Sale, Urmston, Hale Barns and Altrincham. Wythenshawe is the largest council estate in the entire continent, which makes it an expensive place for purchasing property. Stockport has a mixture of wealthy as well as working class residents.
Contrary to the southern part of city, the northern part is typically known to be less sought after. It has various localities that cater mostly to working class such as Moston and Harpurhey. Prestwich is famous for its historic establishment of Jewish community, while Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall are more ethnically diverse with a large population of Eastern European and Asian residents. In this regard, North Manchester is a bit more cosmopolitan than the South.
East and West Manchester
East Manchester is truly the new hot locality in town. Once neglected due to economic and social deprivation, areas such as Beswich, Clayton and Openshaw have recently received substantial amounts by the Commonwealth Games to regenerate the area. It is now regarded as one of the trendiest areas after Manchester City FC has moved into SportCity.
West Manchester varies as far as hot property areas are concerned. Some parts such as Salford Quays are rather socially deprived while new areas such as Worsley and Boothstown are mostly chosen by Manchester’s footballing elite, which makes these expensive areas property wise.
