The regions of this province extend along the beautiful Mediterranean which is world renowned as the Turkish Riviera.
Izmir: Homer is said to have been born in Izmir. Previously known as Smyrna, Izmir is referred to as “The Pearl of the Aegean.” Izmir is Turkey’s biggest port following Istanbul and it is the third most populated city. Each of its 10 metropolitan districts has their own unique qualities and features. Izmir puts on an international arts festival in June and July of each year. Dalaman: The area of Dalaman lies between the sea and mountains. It is a protected area due to its sanctuary for the rare loggerhead sea turtles that spend time at its natural beach. Dalaman is filled with wonderful natural surroundings and splendid lagoon beaches. Dalaman is home to an international airport making it a tourist gateway when traveling to this area of the country.
