The Stages Applied in Scanning Software Programs
There are various stages that are used in scanning software programs. Such stages are required so that the programs will be able to finish the job on time and they will be able to record the data efficiently. The first step in collecting the data is through importing. Companies will need to important the data through a scanner or through an email. In most programs, data can only be recognized through either TWAIN, WIA or even ISIS scanning protocols. The documents which are recorded with the program can be taken from an FTP server, POP3 mail servers, or through a secured LAN connection. Importing of data is then done by an automated feature that runs through a profile of defined settings. This means that users will need to first set the configuration so that the program will be able to function well.
Users can also go through remote document scanning since some scanning software programs are designed for centralized processing. The program runs through point of entry and then records the files automatically. To run the program, users will only need to click a link found in a web page or in an email. The installation is then done and the import profiles will be set. So, users will just have to go online and then click the link to start the program.
Recognizing data in Scanning software programs
Once the program starts scanning, it copies the data through a recognition system. In this stage, document classification, processing and text extraction is done. All of the operations are again done by an automated system and then it sends the data to a server. In order to improve the image processing stage, users will need to correct the page orientation, de-skew several files, convert the color of the files and then invert the images. All such processes can be done through using the scanning program. Once recognition is done, the scanning program then assembles the files through one or through several page documents automatically. It creates layouts of multipage documents and several attached text images.
However, most scanning software programs require a plug-in to function well. Some offer plug-ins of about 190 types of languages including Japanese, Hebrew, Korean, German and Vietnamese. Such programs can actually recognize texts from other countries and then creates a readable English format for such texts. In fact, some programs can even recognize handwritten notes as well as 2D barcodes. The user can just point and click the fields which he wants to record and then the program runs the documents through locating the selected fields.
Verifying the Data
Of course, not all scanning software programs are perfect and most will have mistakes in the output. Therefore, there is the verification stage wherein all of the data scanned is presented to the user through a scalable window. To speed up the verification stage, users can open all types of documents through the use of only one software program. This means that there will no longer be a need to install other programs in order to read several files. All of the processes are already done through one program.
