Celestron NexStar 130SLT Telescope – For Enthusiasts
Celestron has developed into one of the world’s leading telescope makers since manufacturing its first telescope in 1960. Respected by serious amateur astronomers for outstanding design, superior optics and innovative technology.
Celestron’s NexStar series telescopes are designed as affordable entry to mid-level computerized GoTo telescopes with the NexStar SLT (Star Locating Telescope) available in most popular sizes and loaded with design features.
The Celestron NexStar 130SLT Telescope comes with full computerised hand control which gives the ability to automatically track and view objects and has an impressive 30% more light-gathering power than the 114mm telescope . Add to this a built in database that enables the telescope to automatically locate over 4,000 celestial objects and you have the perfect telescope for the enthusiastic astronomer.
Experience the majestic rings of Saturn, polar ice caps on Mars or details of the lunar surface. With Celestron’s NexStar 130SLT you’ll be able to find some 300 clusters, 600 galaxies and a dozens of stunning binary stars. The NexStar 130SLT will also suit the more serious astronomer as its additional light gathering attributes allows exploration of some of the fainter Messier objects such as the globular cluster in Hercules (M13) or the Great Nebula in Orion (M42).
Finding objects really straight forward with the SkyAlign technology and StarPointer Finderscope, a red LED light letting you know if you are heading in the right direction. Finding the objects that you want is a lot easier with the NexStar 130SLT than most other models available. Its Newtonian design ensures the mirror gives the fully colour-corrected views that are best suited for astronomical use however the 130SLT is also suitable for use as a land-based spotting telescope.
Set up is simple with no tools needed. The pre-assembled, adjustable steel tripod, with quick-release fork arm mount means the NexStar 130 SLT can be up and ready to use in a matter of minutes.
The Celestron NexStar 130 SLT is compatible with 2\” eyepieces features a fully computerized Altazimuth mount and a high quality 130 mm reflector. It includes a CD-ROM of the SkyX First Light Edition astronomy software which provides education about the sky and printable sky maps it also comes with a sturdy stainless steel tripod and accessory tray.
In 1610 Galileo was the first to see the planet Venus moving through a cycle of phases much like our own Moon. The NexStar 130 SLT will allow you to view these different variations of lighting seen on the planet’s surface. You’ll also be able to observe Mars (the red planet) resolved as an orange disc and Jupiter (the largest planet in the solar system) with its four Galilean moons (named after Galileo Galilei who discovered them) that are almost as large as planets. Saturn with its rings will also be visible as will details of the lunar surface and much more!
Loaded with an array of user-friendly features the Celestron NexStar 130SLT is an affordable entry level to mid-level computerized GoTo telescope perfect for stargazers of all levels of experience.
