My friends and I were having an online chat the other day. We were having a Houston entertainment discussion, talking about what the latest happenings are in the city. Someone asked the question about what we thought the wackiest entertainment was in the city that was crazy but completely legal. I really had to give this thought. There are a lot of things that I would consider wacky that are probably legal to do; I just think you have to be crazy to try them.

There are a lot of things that seem like wacky entertainment to me. I am sure if I investigated some of them, so may not be legal, but I’ll bet the majority of them are okay to do. It’s not like I am going climbing skyscrapers or anything.

That does bring to mind one thing I have recently seen in many cities that seems pretty wacky to me. A lot of places lately have these zip lines that run through different parts of the city. You can get on these zip lines and zoom miles across the city in just a few seconds as you are high above.

To me, this just seems plain crazy and I wouldn’t do it. Besides the fact that you are so high up and that is enough to scare most people, what happens if for some reason the line gets stuck? There you are just dangling over the city until they figure out a way to get to you? No thanks.

Another thing I have seen recently is that you can go swimming and mingling with all the different animals and fish, including sharks. Now I can almost understand people who want to swim with dolphins, although it doesn’t appeal to me. I mean they at least seem a little friendly.

Some of these other things with animals just seem crazy to me. Why would I want to swim with a shark? For years they were always telling people not to go swimming if there were sharks in the area. Now I would willingly put myself in the water with them? I don’t think so.

Now if you want some wacky on-land entertainment, you should try out one of these role playing games they have in the park. Unlike games they used to play with board, people now dress up and act out adventures as these characters all over the city. I saw them once as I was going through the park. They were all doing it with a straight face, so I guess they take it seriously, and I didn’t see any police chasing them away, so I guess it’s okay.

I am sure there are a lot more crazy things that you can do in the city that are even wackier than what I have written about it. These are just the things that I am aware of. Any Houston entertainment discussion is bound to bring up some of the weird things that go on in the city.
