Online Golf Swing Lessons
In recent years, online golf lessons have grown in popularity, for the simple reason that they address the problem of finding time away from the course to actually take golf lessons. What are the pros and cons from taking online golf lessons? Glad you asked as we have outlined a few here for you:
Pros to taking online golf lessons –
Time – There is no need try and track down the Pro and find time in your schedule that matches with his or her schedule. If you take instructions form a busy professional, you may not be able to book a lesson for a week or more. What do you do in the mean time?
Cost – This kind of comes with a warning…sometimes you get what you pay for. If you are just beginning to learn how to play the game and you are short on funds then this can be a great option for you. With this being said make sure to read the cons section on this one as well and we will get you on the right track!
Access – Due to the advances in technology, golf online lessons may give you access to instructors or teachers that you would not have had access to just a few years ago. You no longer need to be directly with your instructor to receive great instruction. Many players will use video to record their swing and then email it to their instructor. The instructor can watch the swings, voice over what they see and simply email it back to the student. In addition, some instructors are now using Skype and/or Google+ to interact face to face with a student or a group of students.
Cons to taking online golf lessons –
Amount of information – There is already a sea of golf instruction online and it is left up to you to decide which information is good information and bad information. If you are a beginner, this can easily be overwhelming. Some websites brag about how many golf instruction articles or videos that they have on their site and then turn you loose to figure out which one will work for yourself. They might as well just say “Good Luck!”
Source of the information – With all of the golf information on the web, I would highly encourage you to stick with reputable instructors. If you are a beginner you may not know who to look for so let me tell you what to look for in your online golf tips. Find someone who is affiliated with the PGA of America. Better yet, find a PGA of America Master Professional in Instruction or a PGA of America Certified Professional in Instruction. I would also suggest to Google Top 100 Teachers for a list.
Access – Create a plan and stick with it. It is very easy to jump from idea to idea if you do not think something is working fast enough. Make sure the idea makes sense to you and you understand why you would want to implement it into your golf swing.
