The Difference Between Living In A Unit As Opposed To A House

We had been living in a unit in the inner suburbs for a very long time, and were quite accustomed to the small living space. It was set out as to accommodate our living style, so we were very comfortable. Both my partner and I were physical fanatics, and although we both worked full time we made sure we went for a walk or run every day. We also had our own home gym which we had set up ourselves bit by bit acquiring different types of equipment. This equipment can be very heavy, large and usually very expensive.

I remember when we had to move from our unit, we really didn’t have any idea where to move or what we needed to do. Having been in a small unit so long we were comfortable, so making the decision to move to another unit, or change to a house left us a little confused. We thought about it for a while and eventually decided that the way to go was a house. The reason being was that we are animal lovers and always wanted dogs. Living in a unit was one of the sacrifices we had to make as pets were not allowed. We knew they would fit into our lifestyle perfectly as we would be able take them walking every day, and having two of them meant that while we were at work all day they had each other for company. It was perfect really as it would also give us the opportunity to have a garden, which was a relaxing pastime. Living in a house as opposed to the unit had its many advantages and we were looking forward to the move. There are three things to consider when deciding to move:

– Where you would like to move

– What you need to do

– How you are going to do it

We started looking for a house in an area that had a lot of trees and parks around it. This meant moving a bit further out of the inner suburbs. My partner and I both worked in the city and so we would be a commute to work every day. We didn’t mind as we knew we would come home to a place that was almost country in style. We needed the change as we were really not city people, it was just that our work happened to be in the city. We wanted our home to be a kind of retreat, where we could get away from the hustle and bustle and into the peace and tranquillity the outer suburbs provide.

One thing we were concerned about in making the move was how we were going to transport all of our gym equipment. They needed special care as the electronics on them were sensitive. A friend of ours recommended Quick Pick Movers as they had done such a great job on their move. They were a Melbourne removalist company with years of experience. With this removalist Melbourne team working for you everything is covered; they use special hydraulic lifts to move the gym equipment which ensure they are transported with the utmost care.
