8 Unusual Ways of Staying Healthy

Do you focus on your regular exercising for thirty minutes a day, take your dog for a walk, run and jog around the block? You should. And do you eat the foods you are supposed to eat from the food groups that are recommended by the USDA? You should.

Keep stress from your life and keep your mind healthy by reading, sleeping and eating brain foods. Be happy – that is a great way to stay healthy. There are other unusual ways that will infuse your life with interest and fun.

Ways to Stay Healthy

-Flossing. As silly as this may seem flossing will keep the bacteria out of your mouth. This is the kind of bacteria that will enter your blood stream and cause heart attacks and strokes. It is a proven fact that your mouth is the dirtiest portion of your body. So floss and keep it clean.

-Drink red wine. The past 20 years have produced studies from medical research that a glass of red wine daily will lower the chances of heart attacks and strokes.

-Drink dark grape juice. While this may not be as enjoyable as red wine, dark grape juice has the same antioxidants and germ fight powers as red wine. It will also help to prevent heart attacks and strokes. And, it does taste great.

-Listen to music. Music has always been man’s way of soothing the soul. Music will lower stress levels, decrease blood pressure and increase concentration. Music, when you concentrate, has the power to relive pain. Music can be anything you love to listen to; it does not have to be a string quartet.

-Stay hydrated and moist, the flu virus loves dry conditions. Perhaps that is why winter is the flu season. Use a humidifier in your home to keep moisture at healthy levels. You will live longer if you are not dried out.

-Drink coffee. There are not definitive studies, but it has been found that coffee reduces the risk of strokes, cancer, and may be prevents diabetes.

-Watch a funny movie. Laughter may be the best medicine, and is as a great way to enjoy life. Laughter has been proven to release endorphins, lower stress and boost the immune system. Laugher also protects the heart.

-Stay healthy and study. There has been medical studies published in Neurology that proves there is a link between Alzheimer’s and how educated you are. Then more you study the lower the risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s. Keep your lifestyle choices founded in good habits. That is the best prevention against mental problems and losing your memory.

There are so many ways to maintain a good lifestyle and stay healthy. All it takes is fun and good living. Stay away from those drugs, alcohols and smoking that will cause diseases. Have fun, one glass of wine a day (or a good healthy drink of dark grape juice), add these to a good diet and exercise and you will live a long and fruitful and healthy life.
