Embraers E-Jet Program me Reaches Milestone.
Embraers achieved a significant milestone with its airliner program me recently when it delivered the 1000th E-Jet production aircraft during a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Sao Jose dos Campos.
The milestone E175 was handed over to US-based Republic Airlines, a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings Inc., which will operate the aircraft on behalf of American Eagle.
The delivery is part of Republics order for 47 E175s that was announced at the beginning of 2013.The contract also includes options to buy another 47 aircraft.
Embraers relationship with Republic dates back to 1999 when Chautauqua Airlines, also a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, took delivery of its first ERJ 145 in the livery of US Airways Express. In 2008, Republic also received the 400th production E-Jet.
The E-Jets family entered revenue service in 2004 when the first aircraft was delivered to LOT Polish Airlines. Currently, E-Jets are flying with 65 airlines from 45 countries.
In June of this year, Embraer launched the second generation of the E-Jets family – E-Jets E2-the first of which is slated to enter service in 2018.
Embraer claims that its E-Jets family currently holds a 50% market share and accounts for 62% of deliveries in the segment of jets with capacity up to 130 seats. Since January 2013, Embraer has received more than 330 firm orders for both current-generation E-Jets and the E2s.
Embraers also claims it is the only manufacturer to develop a modern family of four aircraft specifically targeted for the 70 to 130 -seat segment.
Since the formal launch of the program me in 1999, E-Jets have redefined the traditional concept of regional aircraft by operating in range of business applications. Today, E-Jets are flying with mainline carriers, low-cost and regional airlines, and tour companies.
With an average mission completion rate of 99, 9% and seven million flight cycles, the fleet of E-Jets recently reached the 10-million flight hour milestone. More than 460-million passengers have flown on Embraer E-Jets.
In addition to their proven reliability, E-Jets have a strategically-located global network of customer support and services with 34 MRO centres, 11 of which are authorized and 23 are independent.
Embraer Delivers Modernized A-1 Fighter
During a recent imposing ceremony, Embraer De fence and Security delivered the first modernized A-1 (A-1M) fighter jet to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) at its industrial plant in Gaviao Peixoto, in out state Sao Paulo.
The event was attended by the Aeronautics Commander, Air Force General Juniti Saito, and officers from the FABs High Command.
The A-1M jet has the capacity of performing air-to-ground attack, bombing, tactical air support and reconnaissance missions. The modernized FAB aircraft will receive new systems for navigation, weaponry, oxygen generation, multimode radar, and electronic countermeasures. This equipment, along with structural refurbishment, will allow these jets to continue operating until 2025.
The program me also includes providing briefing and debriefing stations that will be used for training and improving the proficiency of the pilots of the FAB squadrons.
Embraer Manufactures have strived to ensure they produce the required aircraft for domestic and regional commuter operations. The Embraer 120/135/145/170/190 have dominated the Eastern and Central Africa, West Africa where they are used for daily scheduled passenger flights to major airports for international connection flights. The Embraer 170/190 is mostly used in East Africa region for VIP Executive Jet charter flights plying from Nairobi, Dares Salaam, Kigali, Bujumbura, Entebbe, Juba, Khartoum, Mogadishu and Addis Ababa on weekly and daily basis.VIP Executive charter flights have become more demanding with organizations, business executives and governments for flights to destinations where they are no commercial flights and especially when on a tied schedule. Airlines operating in Kenya, Rwanda are operating E-Jets 170/190 Embraers on their regional routes on daily basis to various destinations within Eastern and Central Africa.
