Corporate Jet Review 2014.
In spite of the tough economic conditions and the comparatively low demand for business jets, most manufacturers are continuing to bring clean-sheet or enhanced current models to the market.
Some of the most exciting announcements have come from the likes of Bombardier, assault and Cessna, although there have been some announcements which, at first glance, seem questionable. An example was the announcement of the Dassault Falcon 5X, where many in the aviation business were expecting a competitor to the Bombardier or Gulf stream long range offerings.
Why did Dassault bring a twin-engine aircraft to market when it already had a very strong contender in the 2000LX/S? The short answer: the 5X is substantially larger; the cabin is even larger than the 7X making this the largest Falcon ever.
Range on the 5X is targeted at 5200 nautical miles, more than 1000 nautical miles greater than the existing Dassault twin engine offering. Most importantly ,and probably the most significant attribute, the 5X is incredibly efficient operating at only about $200 /hr more than the 2000LXS and a full $2,000/ hr less than other competitors in the 5000 nautical space. Additionally, the emissions of the Snecma Silver crest engines are in the order of 15% less than current engines with similar thrust.
One has to be amazed at the technological advancements that the, market is seeing right now, especially in the engine manufacturer arena. More thrust, less weight, less fuel and infinitely more reliability all combine to make operations more efficient with greater safety.
Similarly, the Bombardier Global 7000 offers the largest cabin, save for the BBJ and ACJ ,but it infinitely more efficient, even than its predecessor the Global 6000, with operating costs around 10 percent less than the 6000. Furthermore, the 7000 has roughly 1000 nautical mile greater range than the 6000 and will be slightly faster in the cruise as well with 14% greater thrust.
The same paradigm exists in the light-jet space where manufacturers are able to offer so much more for less, in terms of operating costs. Probably the most quantifiable example is the redesign and re manufacture that N extant Aerospace performs using the Beech jet 400 airframe as the base. The major activities in the 6000 man-hour exercise include the addition of Rockwell Collins Pro line 21 avionics, Williams FJ44-3AP engines and some airframe enhancements that combine to deliver an as new light jet that out-performs its progenitor and the competition.
By comparison to the original Beech jet /Hawker rendition, the Next ant 400XTi offers 700 nautical miles (50%) greater range ,29% improvement in hourly operating cost, higher TBO of 4000 hours verses 3600 and 32% decrease in green-house gases.
The table below reflects the new aircraft available today with a few of their attributes and performance characteristics .It is interesting to note that within manufacturer’s current offerings, there are clear advantages with their newer models.
This listing does not include corporate jet versions of existing airliners such as the ACJ (Airbus Corporate Jet) ,BBJ ( Boeing Business Jet) or Sukhoi SSJ100 families.
Corporate Business jet charter flights have been on high demand in the air transport industry due to its reliability, efficiency and effectiveness coupled with the extra amenities on board like the conference table, WiFi, DVD, toilets, flight attendant with the modern avionics that provide the display of information. In the aircraft we have the leather seats with more leg room enough space to stretch and with a conference table where meetings can be done in-flight and save on time on ground. The light jet aircrafts have experienced crew, with weather equipped and long range endurance the jet can fly both night and day so the travelers need not to worry as they can fly anytime depending on the schedule.
