Las Vegas Grand Canyon St. Patricks Holiday Helicopter Tours

Celebrate St. Patrick\’s Day in style! Take a Grand Canyon helicopter tour from Las Vegas. There are plenty of flights from which to choose but don\’t wait until the last minute. Tours sell out quick during this festive time so book now and get the best trips at the lowest rates.

Las Vegas

Vegas helicopters are either all-air flyover tours or landing tours. Both go over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Colorado River and the Canyon. All-air trips will turn back at this point while landing tours will go to the top or bottom or both. Of course, all-air tours are cheaper than landing tours.

That said, I personally prefer landing tours, especially the one that goes to the bottom of the Canyon for a Champagne picnic. Or, if budget permits, extend this one to include a float tour down the Colorado River and a VIP pass to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

The Skywalk, which is also called the glass bridge, is located on the West Rim and lets travelers walk up to 780 feet over the edge until they are 4,000 feet over the bottom. Obviously, the views are spectacular, especially the ones of Guano Point and Eagle Point.

Deluxe Flights

Vegas offers basic and deluxe flights. The key differentiator is the helicopter. The basic uses an older aircraft while the deluxe uses the incredible EcoStar 130, which boasts a cabin that\’s 25% larger than a standard helicopter\’s. Further, the EcoStar has a massive 180-degree windshield and is outfitted with stadium-style seats.

Another thing that makes deluxe tours awesome is that they leave from the Las Vegas Strip. And when you come back from the Canyon, you\’ll fly from the top of the Strip to the bottom. Lastly, these packages include free limousine service to and from your hotel, which is a great perk if you are celebrating a special occasion.

RSVP

Of course, Las Vegas helicopter tours to the Canyon sell out quickly. This is because nearly 40 million people visit Las Vegas annually and many of them buy a heli ride. Because of this, I recommend always buying your tour in advance and online. This way you\’ll get the best price on the best flight times. Just remember to complete your booking online in order to get that best rate.

St. Pat\’s Day is at the end of winter so dress accordingly. At the West Rim, which is where all Vegas helicopters go, it can get quite cold. As such, I recommend wearing a lightweight jacket, long pants, and running shoes. Even a windbreaker isn\’t a bad idea. And always pack sun block and a bottle water. The West Rim is desert and it can get quite dry.

Conclusion

If you\’re going to Vegas the week of St. Patrick\’s Day, you need to consider putting a helicopter tour at the top of your to do list. From my perspective, the ones that you\’ll enjoy the most are the landing tours, especial the one that goes to the bottom for a Champagne picnic plus limousine hotel transfer. And by all means book in advance and online. Not only will it save you time but it will save you money.
