Planning Your Wedding – Seven Basic Tips
Too many people put to much importance on the wedding day and don\’t give much thought to the many days after or the rest of their lives together. This article can help you to keep things in perspective and to remember that the wedding is just the first of many days of a lifetime together.
Understand that all who are supporting you and helping with your wedding are doing it out of love, as you should show them respect and appreciate what they are doing for you. Do not become a \”bridezilla\”, as this can alienate a lot of people and put a damper on the days leading up to your wedding.
On the day of the wedding, try not to blow things out of proportion by thinking too far into the future. Take advantage of the actual day and enjoy every second of it, as it is going to be an event that you remember for the rest of your life.
On the days leading up to your wedding, try to limit the amount of stress that you have by doing pilates and exercising a lot. This will help you to reduce the amount of anxiety that you have so that you can be in good shape and in good spirits when the big day comes.
On the day of the wedding, make sure that you show your parents and the parents of your future husband or wife a lot of attention. This is their big day too, as they are finally getting to see the child they love so much get married after many years of waiting.
For an outdoor wedding, try to place your guests away from staring into the sun. The sun should be on your guests\’ backs so that they are not blinded while trying to watch you take your vows. You can also try planning your wedding where the sun will benefit you, by providing a beautiful sunset behind where you and the groom will be standing.
When planning an outdoor wedding, always have a backup plan. Try choosing a venue that has an indoor area available for your wedding if it decides to rain that day. You could also consider having tents just in case you experience bad weather. When using a tent during rain, it is not ideal for when you have heavy rain as the ground beneath the tent will become wet and your guests will have to walk in it.
Think of an exotic location for your wedding to make it even more fun and memorable! You could hold your ceremony at a ranch and ride a white horse down the aisle, or have it at a wildlife preserve and have an animal bring the rings down the aisle. I wouldn\’t recommend choosing a turtle for that job, though!
Wedding bands are a vital part of the wedding, as they help to signify the joining of two parties. Make sure that on the days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding itself to have someone who you can count on keep track of your wedding bands to ensure security.
When you are going to get married, try to book your wedding venue at least a few months in advance. If you wait until last minute, the venue may not have any openings and you will have to scramble to find a place that will host your wedding reception on short notice.
When figuring out your seating plan, make sure that tables only include people who know each other and who most definitely LIKE each other! Don\’t seat your cousin with your boss if he once fired her for being late or your Mom and your Dad who happen to be divorced.
The worst thing that can come out of a wedding is a huge debt. Don\’t overlook your budget when choosing items for your big day. If you are cash-strapped, look for savings like having your family cater the event or do all the photography. At worst you can ask for cash in lieu of gifts to help offset the costs.
For your wedding rehearsal and dinner, do not wait until the last minute to put together a \”look\” for your hair, makeup, attire, and accessories. This is an important and memorable part of the wedding experience, and you can create a more involved participation by using the time as a way to offer friends and loved ones, a sneak peak into the design aesthetic of your big day.
As put forth in the beginning of the article, the importance of the wedding day is that it is the first day of the rest of your lives together. Don\’t get too wrapped up in just that one day. By following the advice in this article, you can keep things in perspective for your wedding and your happily ever after.
