How to Jump Higher With 3 Exercises

When it comes to increasing your vertical there are a few things that you need to take care of swiftly. First and foremost you have to be ready to put some work into your legs. If you\’re serious about leaping up higher for whatever sport, you\’ll have to be light on your feet and be able to explode with power to hit the heights you want to hit. Without adequate preparation, you cannot overcome the limitations of your existing abilities, so make sure you\’re ready to put in some work in order to learn how to jump higher with the following exercises. The following will see you gaining serious height in no time.

The first major piece of exercise that you need to do on a regular basis is the simple lunge. Lunges are easy to do, no matter where you are, and don\’t require heavy equipment. To start, simply find an open space and then step forward and bring your body down with one knee touching the ground and the other perpendicular to your body in an animated stepping motion, moving forward. Repeat this exaggerated stepping pattern moving forward keeping your body straight up in a 90 degree position as you move forward as long as you can, until you are fatigued, then do a few more steps after that. This will help your legs get into a beneficial pattern of resistance, using your body as a major component of the weight needed to help strengthen the muscles.

The second thing that you need to work on is your abdominal area. Six pack abs will give you the power pack that is required to start your vertical leap from within and push through with your legs. You might not realize that, but you need to be able to explode with power from the bottoms of your feet through the top of your abdominal area in order to get maximum leap. Without a sturdy core and great abs, you won\’t be able to get the elevation you desire. Do crunches, sit ups, and focus on your core as often as you can.

The last exercise you want to work on is running. Runner\’s often times get made fun of because of they exemplify the opposite body that most people want. However, they maintain a light frame that can stand up to the gravity and wind they face in long distances, and guess what? You need to maintain a lighter frame if you want to rise up to the rim. This is especially true if you\’re relying solely on your vertical leaping abilities and not your height. If you\’re not 7 feet tall with hops, you need to have a light frame to jump higher, and that\’s where running comes in handy. Run as much as you can, and mix it in with the above 2 other exercise to get the most out of all the benefits.

Combined with a good diet, you will see increases in your leaping prowess within a few weeks. It\’s a process that can be made possible, if you can simply discipline yourself to work at it. You won\’t go from day one to day two with a huge jump, but give it a few weeks of serious work, and you\’ll be able to not only run faster, but also elevate your body to new heights.
