Grand Canyon By Bus – The Ultimate Adventure!

One of the most notable American landmarks is the Grand Canyon, which is located in the northern part of Arizona. It\’s an immense area, covering more than a million acres of beautiful wilderness. The most popular destinations are the South Rim and the West Rim on the canyon, and you can get to either one from Las Vegas by luxury motor coach.

The price for coach trips from Vegas to the canyon vary, and depend upon the number of people in your group. You could make the trip in an economical mini-van or ride in style in a luxury motor coach. Each vehicle is equipped with amenities such as individual climate controls, DVD players, pull-down window shades, on-board restrooms and lounge-style seats. A guide accompanies all tours.

Many of the coach trips also offer free pickup and drop-off at your hotel on the Vegas Strip. As a tourist to Vegas, the traffic can be overwhelming, so having shuttle service is a nice perk. It also eliminates the need to stress over finding transportation to and from your hotel, which is an important consideration if you\’re not familiar with Las Vegas.

Both rims offer plenty of sights and activities. The fabulous Grand Canyon Skywalk (also called the Glass Bridge) is at the West Rim, and it lets you walk 70 feet out over the edge of the canyon. While at the West Rim, you don\’t want to miss the breathtaking views from Eagle Point and Guano Point. Another reason to visit Grand Canyon West is because it\’s the only place you can take a helicopter ride straight down to the canyon floor.

Some of the most spectacular scenery can be viewed from the South Rim. If you\’ve seen photos of the National Park, they were probably taken at the South Rim. You can visit Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim and see such landmarks as Yaki Point, Yavapai Point, and Mather Point. There are trails to explore there, too, such as the Rim Trail and Bright Angel Trail. Travelers on Grand Canyon coach tours won\’t be able to participate in mule rides as they\’re very popular and must be booked in advance.

Climate is a factor on these bus rides. The weather along the West Rim is pretty much the same as the weather in Vegas except it is hotter. Temperatures routinely soar over 100 degrees during summer. It is a good idea to take along water, sunglasses, sunblock, and a sunhat when you take a bus excursion into the desert. I also recommend wearing a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt. During the winter months it is cold and very windy.

The South Rim\’s altitude is 6,000 feet, so summers are comfortable and winters are cold and crisp. So in order to be prepared for the weather at the South Rim, pack the same items for the summer, but if you visit during the winter, be prepared to deal with snow and ice. In the summer, though, the weather is ideal, and the temperatures usually stay in the mid-80s.

The bus ride is long (5.5 hours to the South Rim and 2.5 to the West Rim) but fascinating. Buses going to either rim of the canyon from Las Vegas follow the same route. So in either case you won\’t miss Hoover Dam or Lake Mead. West Rim visitors leave the main highway at Dolan Springs and go through an amazing Joshua tree forest. Those going to the South Rim continue down the highway and pass through the Kaibab Plateau before arriving at the National Park.

Grand Canyon motor coach tours are once-in-a-lifetime experiences for anyone who enjoys seeing wildlife, spectacular vistas, and glistening bodies of water. Go ahead and indulge yourself, because you\’ll remember your Grand Canyon tour forever.
