How To Deal With The Seasons When Moving

The seasons are constantly changing and they don’t stand still for anyone or anything. They can be subtle and beautiful at times and at other times they can be harsh and unpredictable. There are days that can be beautiful and are perfect for anything you need to do. These are the days we all wish for and it would be great if all our days were easy for us to work with. Unfortunately this isn’t the case and it makes life a little difficult when it comes to doing things that need us to be outdoors. This is worse when we have to have our possessions exposed to the elements. One thing is for sure and that is no matter what the season, it’s something you have no control over. This means you need to work with and around the weather because ultimately the weather won’t work with you.

The problem is when the weather is harsh, it can determine how we have to conduct the way we do our work. There are many things to consider and to organise especially when there is job to be done that requires being outdoors, which will make any work load harder, and so there are steps that need to be taken to essentially make things easier no matter what the situation. One such occasion is when it comes to moving, as this requires going indoors to out. So when we had to move from the city to the country, it was a massive move on all levels. Firstly there was the distant, and the long trip wasn’t easy to make, secondly there was the difference in the lifestyle we would need to adjust to. This change in lifestyle was life altering to all involved, from the adults in the family to the children. We had decided to make to move because we were all tired of the busy hustle and bustle of the city. We felt we were part of the rat race that was just a never ending pace to keep up, and never felt that we really had time out to relax and enjoy life. We felt the country would be a good place because it was more of a laid back atmosphere, and the people in the country never seemed like they were in a hurry. The countryside is beautiful in its landscape and had an air of splendor and of comfort. It’s something to be enjoyed and it endlessly creates a sense of calm and freedom. We were extremely happy with the decision, but of course as luck would have it Melbournes weather was, as usual, unpredictable. On the day of the move it was miserable, it started off cold and as the day went on it started raining and just wouldn’t let up. We had our work cut out for us and although most of our belongings were packed they still needed to be transferred to the moving truck without getting wet.

We were lucky enough to get hold of Melbourne movers who also provided packaging materials, which would ensure our belongings, would be properly covered, packed and protected from the rain. For removalist Melbourne central and regional that are prepared to take on any move, you can’t go past Quick Pick Movers. They provide a professional service that covers all areas, and they are equipped for any type of move. So on the day of the move the movers came prepared with all the coverings necessary to protect our furniture from the rain, and for preventing any water damage. They carefully wrapped and packaged all our belongings and then moved it onto the truck making sure the whole time everything was protected from the rain. Once everything was loaded onto the truck it was ready to go to the country.

We arrived at our new house in the country just after midday and by that time the rain seemed to be slowing down. The removalist arrived soon after and got busy unloading the items, going back and forth to the truck they knew what they were doing, and although it was still drizzling they somehow managed to make the move seem effortless. I guess they would have done this type of move on many occasions, and it was something they were acquainted with, the rain didn’t seem to bother them at all. As they were bringing our belongings into the house, we were all busy quickly unpacking and trying to put things in their right place. It was a lot of work, but at the same time exciting and a lot of fun. We were so happy to be in our new home and to start a new life we didn’t even feel tired. By the time the movers were finished we had set up the family room and the bedrooms, I had put most of our kitchen items and basic needs away and the place was starting to look like a home.

Our new home had a fire place and I got my wife to start a fire with some wood from outside that the old owners had left behind. I made some hot chocolate and the whole family sat down to relax. The smell of the burning wood and the peace and quiet alone were well worth the move and although it was still raining, it was actually enjoyable. For the first time being in a warm country home, we were suddenly able to appreciate the weather.
