Oahu Hawaii Tour Deals

Oahu is amazingly beautiful. In addition to its striking natural beauty, Oahu’s history, traditional culture, and sites inextricably tied to World War II routinely capture the imagination of travelers from all over the world. I truly believe that the best way to experience these Oahu activities is by taking at least a couple of Oahu tours.

There are different types of Oahu tours to choose from. If military history is your thing, a Pearl Harbor tour is a no-brainer. Cultural tours appeal to a lot of people, but eco-adventure tours are also hot. Here’s some information about the different types of Oahu activities and tours:

The Pearl Harbor Memorial

Pearl Harbor is first up to bat, simply because these Oahu tours are some of the most popular out there. Pearl is full of historical sites, monuments and museums that are dedicated to remembering the “day that will live in infamy.”

Most people know the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial is in Pearl Harbor, floating above the watery grave of the battleship and over a thousand sailors who died aboard her. You’ll see it during one of my favorite all-day Pearl Harbor tours, which also includes a visit to the U.S.S. Bowfin Submarine Center. After you walk through this World War II submarine, you’ll go to one of the world’s most famous battleships – the U.S.S. Missouri. Japan surrendered to end World War II on one of her decks.

Military planes and flight exhibits are featured at the Pacific Aviation Museum, which is another stop on this tour. The famous statue of King Kamehamea, the Punchbowl National Cemetery and several other notable Oahu sites are also part of this tour, which includes all memorial admission fees and free hotel pickup and drop-off at most Waikiki hotels.

Eco Tours

Eco-adventure tours are one of the Oahu activities I most look forward to whenever I’m on the island. One of my favorites is a comprehensive, all-day package called the Circle Island Eco Tour. It includes several locations on the island’s North and South Shores.

One of the reasons I love this tour is because it’s always led by an experienced naturalist who dishes out a ton of interesting information about the island’s culture, wildlife, geology and folklore. Another reason is the included gourmet Hawaiian lunch!

In addition to incredible views of the magnificent coast, this tour includes visits to a lovely botanical garden, a serene Japanese temple, two Hawaiian temples and Waimea Falls, where you can go for a quick swim in the pool down below. This tour is of the “real” Hawaii, and that’s why you’ll see a number of Oahu’s famed beaches. You might even catch a glimpse of the Green Sea Turtles that hang out on the North Shore. Complimentary pickup and drop-off at most Waikiki hotels is included in the tour price.

Give Me Some Hawaiian Culture

Oahu cultural tours are terrific too! I suggest the tour that takes you to the Dole Pineapple Plantation Pavilion because you can indulge in some of the best pineapple you’ll ever eat while you’re touring the operation. The tour also stops at the Polynesian Cultural Center, where you can ride in a double-hulled canoe, watch a canoe parade, and eat ’til you’re full at a buffet. In addition to those activities, you’ll see the North Shore of the island, Waimea Bay, the Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach. It’s surfer heaven! Like the other tours I’ve mentioned, this one includes free pickup and drop-off services at most Waikiki hotels.
