Drake Tickets – He’s the Best Rappers Have Ever Had (for 2010)
After Kamagra Gold he snatched away the Best New Artist award from tween favorite act Justin Bieber, the actor-turned-rapper Drake couldn’t get rid of the attention. Announcing his headlining tour following his Juno Award win from April, the former Degrassi: The Next Generation star turned up the heat with headlining tour dates through early May. The Canadian performer is visiting several college campuses in North America with opening acts K-OS and New York outfit Francis & the Lights this season, so if you can’t stop singing “Best I Ever Had,” you’re going to love seeing Drake perform it live with Drake tickets online.
He has a successful group of musicians backing him up including Kanye West, who directed his breakout hit “Best I Ever Had.” Rapper Taio Cruz is also hinting at collaborating with the star. Thus, success wasn’t such a shock for Drake. Yet this MySpace breakout act found his biggest claim to fame when Lil Wayne asked him to join his tour in 2006 following self-promotion of mixtapes “Room for Improvement” and “Comeback Season.”
Currently signed to Cash Money and Universal Motown Records, with an affiliation to Lil Wayne’s own Young Money, Drake seeks promotion in all disciplines. In 2007, following his release of “Comeback Season,” Drake became the first unsigned Canadian rapper to see a music video on BET; “Replacement Girl” was featured on the program Joint of the Day that year. He is also only the second artist to have the first two singles make the Top 10 in the same week, as Young Money Entertainment’s “Best I prescription cialis online Ever Had” and “Every Girl” hit top spots in July 2009.
Already an established actor by the time he started dabbling in music around 2006, Aubrey Drake Graham had been the star of Canada’s long-running children’s soap opera Degrassi for nine years. Transitioning from his good-boy character Jimmy Brooks on the television series to a bad-boy rapper proved feasible when West, Lil Wayne and even Jay-Z started talking about this musical prodigy, who had already dabbled in hundreds of mixtapes and remixes on his own. It wasn’t until the end of June 2009, however, that Drake saw his promotional hit “Best I Ever Had” fly high on Billboard’s Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop charts.
Now he’s preparing promotions for the full-length debut Thank Me Later, an album that got big-time producers in everyone from Birdman to Kanye, and Lil Wayne’s own Young Money label. Even without the backup, Drake’s strong vocals would have made a clear run to Billboard charts soon enough. Already nominated for a Grammy Award while picking up two Juno Awards in April – Best New Artist and Rap Recording of the Year – Drake still has far to come.
The Jewish Canadian was always talented though his career in entertainment isn’t very extensive. Born in 1986, Drake’s first acting gig was actually working on Degrassi, where he appeared in 138 episodes as well as a film. Music was the same way for this young star. Coming naturally to him, it was only in 2006 that the rapper started putting together some mixtapes and adding them to his MySpace page. When “Replacement Girl” found mainstream success, Drake found a home within the rapping world. Underground at first, now Drake sees commercial flavors from all over the world.
