Norah Jones Tickets – Appearing on Congo Awareness Compilation
Norah Jones is set to join several other artists including Sheryl Crow, Mos Def and Damien Rice on the compilation Raise Hope for Congo. According to spinner.com, the main purpose of the record is to spread awareness about the plight of women in the African nation. Human rights activist John Predergast was quoted on the Times’ Pop and Hiss blog saying, “This compilation album will be a beacon to light the path to educating hundreds of thousands of people about the issues in Congo and what all of us can do to help end the suffering there.” Raise Hope for Congo is currently available for digital Brand Cialis download and is scheduled to be issued in physical form on June 22.
In other Norah Jones news, the acclaimed singer/songwriter is busy getting her chops ready for an appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The event is scheduled to take place in Manchester, Tenn. and includes a wide range of artists and bands including Jones, who will undoubtedly deliver a peaceful and easygoing set of tunes from her latest album The Fall. See her at Bonnaroo, or if you can’t make this year’s festival be sure to catch Ms. Jones when she swings by your town. Norah Jones tickets can be found online.
Her sultry voice and fast fingers (whether they be strumming the guitar or gliding across piano keys) have helped Norah Jones rise from a coffeehouse musician to a major stadium draw. She plays a blend of genres, with jazz being the main ingredient in the recipe of success. In addition, she incorporates blues, country and a dash of contemporary folk. What Jones does with this collection of genres is nothing short of magical. She blends, weaves and creates songs fitting for a soundtrack of fairytale dreams, Viagra Professional and she does all of this without sounding cheesy; she stays away from cliches and always puts her finger on the right note.
Jones’ debut album Come Away with Me was released in early 2002. For a first effort, Jones delivered gold (though literally platinum) and the effort won her eight Grammy Awards. The mellow, acoustic tunes romanced listeners and the title track became one of the most popular ballads of the year.
Her follow-up album Feels Like Home took a very similar approach to her first album and spun tracks like “What Am I to You?” “Carnival Town” and “Toes.” Around this same time, Jones hooked up with a small group called the Little Willies, who specialized in playing covers of classic Americana music and focused on recordings by artists like Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Hank Williams.
Her third release, Not Too Late, arrived in 2007 and showcased her creative aspirations in the field of music. It wasn’t quite as polished as her first two efforts, but it was pleasingly artistic. Standout tracks included “Sinkin’ Soon,” “Thinking About You” and “Be My Somebody.”
Norah Jones’ latest release, The Fall, seems to signify change for the songwriter. She reaches out beyond her comfort zone and entices fans to listen to her stories that she so gracefully shares with the help of a sultry voice, a trusty guitar and the keys of a piano.
